Lucy just posted a link and his convrsation saying he was against abortion. Doesn't it hurt your mouth when you have both feet in it?
[/quote]
And I have explained why it convinced me more that his not anti-abortion.

No????? You claimed he was lying

If you say abortion is a crime or abortion is murder, you have to deal with it under the law. Should abortion be punished?

There ya go. His practically leading him that if abortion is illegal, there has to be punishment. His trapping trump that's all.

quote:

TRUMP: I would say that it’s a very serious problem and it’s a problem that we have to decide on. It’s very hard –
MATTHEWS: But you’re for banning it.
TRUMP: Are you going to say, well wait, are you going to say put them in jail? Is that the punishment you’re talking about?

At this point, from this statement, you can clearly see Trump is appalled by the idea that women goes to jail for abortion.

quote:

TRUMP: You know you’ll go back to a position like where they had where people perhaps will go to illegal places.

It's so obvious from here Trump is flustered because his 100% pro planned parenthood and pro-abortion but his running out of ideas on how to claim his anti-abortion. And his thinking his true thoughts that banning abortion is a damn bad idea, but he has to stick to it, as his running as a republican.

I'm convinced more than ever by this interview Trump is pro-abortion.

Whatever your position is on voluntary termination of pregnancy, do you really understand Donald Trump's position? Why would that matter? Well he is running for office after all.

What do people then vote for, if the Trumpster says several different things in his campaign about abortion? Do they do what you do and just guess, or do they have to take the last thing he said as his policy?

It's all very well wanting to stick your finger up at political orthodoxy, but good democracy depends on a couple of conventions, like knowing what you are voting for, and not advocating violence against your opponents. I know that he is presented as a political rebel and a "breath of fresh air", come to shake up the establishment, but he doesn't know his own mind, doesn't mind people being "roughed up" at his rallies and can't even run a decent business.

I'm struggling to see what you like so much about him. He is an unaccountable alpha male, with a penchant for violence, who never has to deal with the consequences of his own actions.

Is that the attraction?

And back to the OP. Is it just that he doesn't know what he thinks about abortion? Perhaps the problem is it that he will change his opinions at the drop of a hat to cosy up to the right pressure groups. Alternatively maybe he just can't cope with the pressure of being asked a straight question?

So he's not exactly a man of principle, who is calm under pressure.

Maybe the US doesn't need those qualities in a President.

longwayhome -> RE: In the name of Fair and Balance (3/31/2016 9:33:37 AM)

Forget people who choose to end their pregnancies, Donald Trump should be locked up for that haircut.

If ever there was a sign of a man who takes account of no-one, it has to be that hair.

How did anyone close to him ever let him out of the house in the morning with that birds-nest paper-clipped to his bonce?

Lucy, you are trying to reason with a person who started an entire thread about how the solution to the abortion issue is making it legal but then punish any woman who had one.

Actually the crux of my purpose of that is more to encourage more responsible sex among people.
And the "punishment" is doing community work.
I have nothing against abortion, but I have alot of issues towards people having unwanted babies. They should have babies only if they genuinely want one.

Come on now. You have seen what he has said at his rallies about opponents deserving to be being "roughed up" and how he would support those doing it by paying their legal fees if they were charged with assault.

As for never having to deal with the consequences of his own actions, his money puts him largely above the law and he has been rescued from business failure and bankruptcy more than once rather than having to live with the consequences of it. I don't remember reading about Trump, the homeless years.

The guy didn't just start with a silver spoon, he started with a huge fortune. Unlike other businessmen who have created great things from almost nothing, he is merely an very rich man, who is still rich. He has created very little (apart from proving that if you have lots of money you can build stuff). He is hardly a Bill Gates, Richard Branson or Mark Zuckerberg. Given his bankruptcies, you can't even say he is a good administrator.

When you say responsible for Trump holdings, you mean accountable to almost no-one except himself as a result of his wealth. The man even brags about how he has used his money to influence politicians, then when it doesn't work (like here in the UK) he calls the politicians corrupt. If I tried to "influence" a politician, I would be arrested for bribery.

Finally, what about people being jealousy of him because he is rich? You can't just throw that accusation round at everyone who doesn't rate Trump as a businessman or politician. There are a number of rich people who have achieved their wealth by being outstanding in their fields. These people can be admired for what they have done. Trump isn't one of them.

All this makes Trump looks like a second rate, unpleasant bully.

Which in terms of addressing the OP, makes him a second rate, unpleasant bully, who either doesn't know what he believes or changes his mind to impress pressure groups. Oh and it seems that he can't take a the pressure of a straight question from a journalist as well.

And this is the man who is going to save American democracy?

Actually you proposed multiple punishments, including fines and community service.

Regardless, my original statement regarding what you said is completely accurate.

Don't apologize for that. Greta doesn't understand sarcasm, humor, or anything else that requires critical thinking.

He probably has his hair insured, like actresses do their legs. He gets $1 million if anything happens to the mop.

I definitely find Trump haters very aggressive. There has been Trump supporters wearing Trump T-shirts, been beaten up by Trump haters. I believe his just being protective of the guys who are supportive of him. I don't see that as any incitement of violence.

Who rescued him out of bankruptcy? From what I understood, he rescued himself. He claims to be billions of dollars in debt, but refused to declare a bankrupt and worked towards climbing back up. This is on his own personal wealth. Most people would have break and just declare bankrupt and get creditors off his back. But he fought to rescue himself. Again, this is exactly what I am saying, you are discrediting any success he made for himself, because he was born with a silver spoon.

It has been pointed out to you time and time again Greta...you are wrong. Trump did NOT rescue himself from bankruptcy. He did in fact "break and just declare bankrupt and get creditors off his back", multiple times. Ruining people he made the deals with in the process.

So no, he does not hold himself accountable for his own actions, and has not had to pay the price for his own failures

Yep. Trump's aggressive - so that's what his opponents are going to be like, too. Seriously, what else would you expect? The man is a nasty, unprincipled, sociopathic turd. It would give me *immense pleasure* to give him a solid right hook, should that unlikely possibility ever arise.

Sometimes, I do wonder what you and your ultra-rightie friends actually want from us lefties. You're forever digging at our lily-livered effeteness and how we let enemies walk all over us, so anxiously politically correct are we. Well, here, we see Trump as our enemy and we want to beat him up - so, surely you'd support that? All limp-wristed political correctness out of the window, in favour of some full-blooded all-American right hooks against the clear enemy, no?
