Conservatives believe the fetus has a body and that no individual has the right to wield the power of life and death over that body.

Uh, the religious rightwing believes that perhaps, but I dont have any reason to believe that conservatives do. that would be a mischaracterization of the definition of conservative.

to wit: holding to traditional attitudes and values and cautious about change or innovation, typically in relation to politics or religion.
christian religion (in bible terms) not in religious terms, does not hold that there is life before it is out and up and around.
politics: Roe v Wade is the law of the land. thats politics, looking to overthrow that for a new world nutsucker order is not conservative.

I doubt anyone would attempt to redefine 'conservative' on the basis of my reply, however from a legislative standpoint, there's sufficient support amongst conservatives to allow the ratification of the laws Lucy's complaining about. That suggests a significant majority. While that doesn't necessarily imply all conservatives agree on that stance, Peon's division of the world into two tribes does insist that every issue has a viewpoint which is either "conservative" (boo-hiss!!!) or "liberal" (yay for feelings!!!). I'm just going with the flow.

Regarding the womens bodies bit, you may be fine with that, but with over 200 bills in 18 months, certain rights ARE and HAVE been discriminating and dictating ONLY womens bodies. AND forcing them into all kinds of shitty rules.
The problem with that misrepresentation is that it's completely dishonest. Which is one of the problems that I have with the hysteria of the "right to choose" crowd.

Conservatives simply proceed from different assumptions and work forward from there. To whit: Conservatives believe the fetus has a body and that no individual has the right to wield the power of life and death over that body.

Now, that's exceedingly inconvenient for women who want to treat a fetus as a thing, so she can readily dispose of it with a clear conscience.

This is a clash of viewpoints. This is not about making laws about women's bodies. That's a disingenuous, hysterical piece of fiction which I treat with the fucking contempt it deserves. If you're unable to be honest about the source of your contention with conservatives - instead of resorting to misleading soundbites - then you're just another dishonest idiot who's a waste of space.

On the other hand, if you're talking about health insurers and employers not paying for your contraception and tampons, then GROW THE FUCK UP. You're an adult who's responsible for managing your own needs. Start behaving like one.

oh sweet thing, Ive been taxed on my tampons for 40 years. Both in the UK and Canada, Ive been sterile for 24 years. Ive had 7 pregnancies, out of that I had 3 live births, 3 misscarriages/stillborn and one ectopic pregnancy that happened AFTER I had my tubes surgically tied.

Im not concerned with my own "needs" I have paid my taxes for my healthcare, both in the UK and Canada. I dont have the needs of millions of american women. But as you feel the need to reduce every woman but your own, as insignificant beyond a mans "needs". Im done done laughing at the rest of your bait.[8|]

mnottertail -> RE: Thoughts about backwoods Mississippi? (4/13/2016 6:02:09 AM)

I am unaware of any conservatives in our government, we have nutsuckers aplenty, I see no conservatives.

There is a translation problem in the way the UK does business and we do business.

They faction parties, we dont. We got two.

Just as a mini thing they have Torys (which although they often are compared to our republicans, they aint. They have a republican party and those guys want to go back pre-cromwell) But they also separate out UKIP from Torys as an identifiable party although in most ways those rotters are a tuppence. (one coin) and they, having a finer distinction of their political bandwidth and knowing that Americans dont know or care the difference in Bermondsey and Agincourt lump them here, Tories and Labor (republicans and democrats) respectively. And we act to the world as two tribes, so it is a valid lens to view us thru.

i.e. abortion three people.

I am for it.
I don't give a fuck. (or if you prefer, I don't know)
I am against it.

we have then in America:

2 liberal pro-abortion democrats.
1 conservative anti-abortion republican.

(thats how it is counted here.)
stark unvarnished issue and you are for it or agin it, nothing else.

They have Dodgy Dave. Their Prime Ministers skullfuck dead pigs. Our Presidents are impeached for a blowjob (an endeavor strived for without cessation by kings to shoe clerks). Astonishing we won the war, wot?

That's a weird combination of missing the point, telling me stuff about yourself I have no real desire to know and character assassination. And all that does is highlight the facile nature of your complaints about "laws on women's bodies".

Perhaps you're more used to rhetoric than debate.

Let's see... "your", "good", "four", "just" - four four-letter words from your own post.

I dunno dude, you seem to use a lot of four-letter words yourself. In fact, most of the words you do use are four letters or less.

Don't really think you've got the intellectual capacity to be calling anyone else a moron.

Yea... you will hide it just like gays do... it will come out my friend. Cake has nothing to do with it and you know that... if you like giving up some of your rights compared to the holier than now assholes and don't mind the future of discrimination against you then your not much of a man.

I just hope it makes you understand the anger against this discrimination by gays... they are JUST like you...in the same boat.

Butch

You know Butch, I'm not a whiny little multiculturalist or a whiny feminist. Life exist. There are no micro aggressions and there is no rape culture. But there are people with a chip on their shoulder, bad emotions and hyperawareness who see life from that prospective. In one way or another discrimination happens to us all every day. That's one of the lessons in life. Deal with it.

It seems to bother whiney little punks that they get called on their arrogant beliefs

In one way or another discrimination happens to us all every day.

You seem to feel that you are being discriminated against by being "forced" to obey the law in the land you live in.

That's one of the lessons in life. Deal with it.

Perhaps you might consider following your own advice.

The viewpoint of medical doctors is that a foetus is not a baby. So the clash of viewpoints is the opinion of the ignorant vs. the opinion of doctors.

You clearly fall into this catagory of stupidity.
In amerika, if you wish to be in business you get a license from the government to do so.
That mean you do business according to the law not according to what you think your imaginary friend thinks.

No. You do not.

No you do not what??? Need a business license or follow the rules?

You do not have the faintest fucking idea what you're talking about

I know you are full of shit.

No. You spout a bunch of fucking nonsense. The government does not require you to have a "license" to operate a business. You are a fucking moron who spouts gibberish and hopes nobody calls you on it.

Perhaps you might ask an adult what a business license is and who needs one. Until you become aware of that it is you who spouts gibberish.
