All I have seen is that the man was up for 157 hours without sleep, doing his tours and the flu? has that been changed? That WILL kill.
THe will will make things messy its a damn shame

yeah,.. I have heard that just one night without sleep does the equivalent damage of 6 months of a high fat diet.. yikes! but i have read that Prince usually only got 4 hours of sleep, and he functioned well on that.. at times i have gotten 5 hours of sleep at night and with a good solid sleep (good rem sleep), even tho only 5 hours, my body wouldnt actually let me sleep longer, I'd just wake up and be wide awake.. but that is very different from not sleeping at all.. he mighta had some cat naps tho but thats not the same as getting your rem sleep.. He was touring so maybe he was in too much pain to sleep, I know when i am in pain its hard to sleep, I wake up frequently, toss & turn..

law in mn it will be split among his siblings (including half-siblings)

I guess at 57 you still are of an age where you think you will live forever, and sort of put that will thing off, not wanting to think about having to study for your finals.

If he didnt have his assets in a trust then wouldnt the govt get half (or more?) of it? I cant think of a worse, less deserving place for your money to go..

I have some theories about Prince.
As I said earlier at 18, I was smitten with him. I have never really been one to be star struck. I mean I might admire someone etc. but never star struck with movie stars, or people of great leadership.
I was actually star struck by Prince. Being the type who found construction worker types the sexiest, I found the attraction odd:
I now know it was his total uniqueness as an individual. Daring to be different, not only was he talented, how many men could pull off some of his outrageous outfits and not look ridiculous??? Prince could.
I know of two others, who did pretty much the same thing, michael Jackson and Elvis Presley.
It will be of interest to me to see why Prince died. I do believe he surcomed to the same demons as both of those icons deaths.
I always watched him as an artist, but never really followed interviews when he spoke as an individual. So I began doing a little research and found his personality to be very similar to michael Jackson.
I wouldn't be a bit surprised if he wasn't into bdsm in some form. He was definitely a dominant alpha male but you could tell he did not feel comfortable off stage with most people.
He appeared to have a general sadness to him or disappointed affect when speaking. Very opinionated and I would guess he truly didn't bond with to many people. Very charitable to those unfortunate to him though.
It would be very difficult to maintain a certain image all the time, I think he was a perfectionist to the point of being unable to rest. His own worse judge.
Beyond him and charity I don't think he cared where the money would go.
That's my theory.

He wouldn't care so much where the money went but he definitely would be caring about where his music was going. He was a control freak about his music and had even stated numerous times that his songs were like his children to him.

So the thought that he did not have a will even with all the lawyers he had which were a lot, it's just beyond disbelief. It's almost positive that his family will take full advantage of his estate which is just a sad thought.

I dont know about that, his sister asked a judge/court to appoint Bremer Trust as the “special administrator” of Prince’s estate, which has now been approved.. so far it seems pretty civil, I hope it stays that way and there arent any nasty lawsuits and fights over his assets and music..

I heard that even though he had had financial problems...he wouln't leverage his music catalog and was very, very picky about licensing his music for commercials, TV or movies.

Without a will, I'm guessing the heirs will disregard that and just do what makes money.

He used to give the tapes to people he cared about, ex girlfriends, friends and such, I'm a bit torn about wishing the music will surface since he was such a great artist and respecting his wishes... I do remember when he changed the name to Symbol as he didn't want to work with Warner anymore.

Since he was childless, his only child dying within days of birth, I could see where his music was his child.
His love was his work. I really don't believe a person so driven almost to obsession over their art can really give consistent love to a partner on a regular basis. Unless that partner didn't really need much in return and was satisfied with tidbits. Most of those tidbits would also be his real love, that's sharing his music to the few people he trusted and cared about.
I almost wish they would never release this songs in the vault.
I hope his family continues to honor his life as they appear to be doing with integrity. Whether his sister was a past drug addict among other things or not. Looks like they are handling it with integrity.

Yep, some of his music was OK and it's bad news that he died so young.
