ORIGINAL: Phydeaux quote:
ORIGINAL: tweakabellethe OED is unambiguous in defining fascism as right wing phenomenon. No, whats clear is that you can't read, and that you attempt to your favorite preconception into the clearly written meaning. Lets highlight the important bits, shall we? 1.1(In general use) extreme right-wing, authoritarian, or intolerant views or practice. Notice the words 'OR". It means that facism can mean merely intolerant and authoritarian. Well, like you, for example. Further notice the example quoted. In fact the very FIRST example noted: quote:
(ex)this is yet another example of health fascism in action Pretty much the poster child for left wingers now isn't it. Regardless, it perfectly supports the usage of fascism merely as authoritarian, and intolerant. Of course, Lucy left out the bits that didn't fit her preconceived notions. Ie., notice that she left out "Fascism tends to include a belief in the supremacy of one national or ethnic group, a contempt for democracy, an insistence on obedience to a powerful leader, and a strong demagogic approach." Gee, no mention of right wing. In ancient Rome the fasces were the bundle of rods, with an axe through them, carried in front of a magistrate as a symbol of his power to punish people. Gee, no mention of right wing there. In fact the entire essence of it - seems to be the ability to punish people. While we're at it lets go to the OED for another definition: OED: Fascist: "A person who is very intolerant or domineering " You liberals knew that RM and myself used the word correctly; you knew the dictionary definition was correct. You lied in the application of the definition of definition from the OED, as nearly as I can tell merely to smear other people. Pretty much doing what liberals always do. If you don't want to be compared to other fascist organizations - stop acting like them. yet you missed out the head of the list.....1.quote:
An authoritarian and nationalistic right-wing system of government and social organization. You say.... in your post....quote:

BT way according to post 31 http://www.collarchat.com/fb.asp?m=4908862 I exactly stated quote:
"Fascism tends to include a belief in the supremacy of one national or ethnic group, a contempt for democracy, an insistence on obedience to a powerful leader, and a strong demagogic approach." who is the liar? you have bollocks for brain cells Edited to add, the actual quotes highlighted.
