ORIGINAL: bigjb62 What do you have against giving every child who is conceived a chance to live? Are you serious? Can we compare this properly? Religious version okay? You're a Christian, you believe in Heaven right? 1) The mother doesn't want this child, we allow this child to live, child comes out. Goes through emotional trauma of being adopted, unwanted, or whatever. No guarantees this child will even get adopted. Might end up in an orphanage forever. 50-50 chance the child will be okay, even then, it may not find Christ, be disillusioned by religion, might end up in hell, basically, suffer. OR 2) Mother doesn't want this child. Aborts the child. Child 100% guaranteed goes straight to heaven WITHOUT having to go through life and all the trials and tribulations and all the crazy test that God gives you to test your faith for him! Hmm......., does that answer your question? I seriously cannot possibly see life being the better gift here. Unless you think Heaven is a worst off place to be in than earth. To me, life is only the better gift if that mother is gonna care and love for her child. Which in abortion cases, that most of the time isn't the case. How can you think that murdering a baby is a gift. How do you know the child wouldn't grow up and radically change the world for the better! Or do some other great thing like save a bunch of people from certain death. It's not yours the government's or even the mother's right to take an unborn child's life. Plus you're trying to argue about God and the baby going heaven which is something you don't even believe yourself which invalidates everything you say on the matter. Are you saying that god doesn't realize the fetus is going to be aborted, so he puts all the hopes and dreams of humanity into it? That sure makes wonderful sense, and shows his true intelligence. God know all but doesn't always intervene. Here's the rub, he gave us free will so in most cases if not all cases free will takes precedence.
