dcnovice -> 9/11 = God's Wrath Over Gender-Neutral Bathrooms (5/13/2016 6:26:30 PM)

The daughter of America’s most famous evangelical preacher has claimed that God let the September 11 attacks happen because he was angered by transgender people.

Anne Graham Lotz, the daughter of 97-year-old Billy Graham, said that terrorist attacks and bad weather were “evidence that God has backed away,” as a result of the policies in the US.

Mrs Graham Lotz, 67, who runs AnGeL Ministries, a church in North Carolina, added that the transgender row in her own state was an example of the “chaos”.

North Carolina’s governor ruled that people must use the bathroom corresponding to the gender on their birth certificate – sparking a wave of anger from gay rights groups and boycotts by businesses, entertainers and tourists. But Mrs Graham Lotz said the gay rights protest was an example of the “craziness” which was angering God.

Wow. You can't make this shit up.

As a church lady myself, it drives me berserk when "Christians" like this make us all appear moronic.

A religious extremist blaming an innocent group of people for the actions of religious extremists. Oh the irony.

So far we're 0 for 3 in terms of relevant responses.

ThatDizzyChick -> RE: 9/11 = God's Wrath Over Gender-Neutral Bathrooms (5/13/2016 7:14:32 PM)

Much like most people, religious extremists see what they want to see, and like most other ideological extremists of any type, they want to see some pretty fucked up stuff.

Perhaps god should not have made people in the wrong gender or allowed humankind to develop means in which to surgically alter genders.

Besides, I thought this god preferred hurricanes and natural disasters (ala Katrina) when expressing divine wrath. Isn't wrath one of the seven deadly sins, by the way? I suppose it's more of a "do as I say, not as I do" situation with this god fellow. Makes it a bit difficult to take him seriously, though.

True enough. But then again consistency has never been a particularly strong suit of religion.

Your post wasn't there when I wrote my reply.

Had it been, I'd have said we were 1 for 4. [:)]

Yeah. A big part of fanaticism is a lack of education. I remember seeing, or hearing, somewhere that it can take up to three generations to remove an ideology. The first generation needs to die off, but it's where you plant the seed for a different ideology. The second generation is where the seed begin to grows, but because of the relation to the fist generation you can't expect much change. The third generation is where the seed becomes a plant.

You know what? This is exactly why Christians are more peaceful than Islam. When they want to "incite violence", they leave it up to their imaginary God to do it. And when anything bad happens, they just think their God did it. Which is great! As long as all Christians be the good Christians they are and do not try to play God and leave violence up to their God, and do not personally execute it. All is good in this world!

The problem with Islam is, they believe Allah expects them to personally execute violence and punishment to others on his behalf.

You hit the nail on the head with that one.

That is completely correct.

Notice I say, a good Christian does not take matters into their own hands. A good Muslim take matters into their own hands.

It's a different religious directive for both religion.

Christian God historically personally takes action. Noah's Ark. Murder of new born babies. Christian God himself does the killing personally. NOT his people usually. And then when he decided to come to earth as Jesus. He didn't order any killing at all. He could have. He really could have. He could have raise an Army to fight those evil Romans trying to get him. But he didn't. Christian isn't the most violent religion today, killing in the name of Jesus, precisely because majority believes that, punishment is melted by God himself and humans have no right to play God. It would be blasphemy.

There has not been one instances of Allah doing his dirty work himself. He always commanded his Muslim human beings to kill on his behalf. Muhammad could have left Mecca alone, and just go live in peace elsewhere for the rest of his life, but he didn't. Held a grudge, and to go back in and enslave the whole place that cast him out. So vengeful.
Muslims like to claim his a warlord, but everybody forgets he was just a handy man working for a rich woman. Then the rich chick married his ass. And he was like house husband until his wife passed away as he was her boy toy, he married much older, like nearly 20 years older, old and rich and providing for him. And then suddenly his ready to wage war and get a whole new harem of really young new wives. He was raised as non-violent as Jesus, and arguably, he was almost like a carpenter too, as his job hired by his wife was handy man. Like seriously.

We really need to look at role models.
