Is it normal for European women to sunbathe topless infront of their bosses and their fellow colleagues?

Like even within the first week of their job? Or ever?

Specially German or Russian women?

Because I've been told it's normal. And I don't believe it!

Many women will sunbathe topless where it is allowed.
Nationality is irrelevant.
Whether their boss is around or not is also irrelevant.

The thing is, most public places don't allow topless sunbathing so they would have to be very brave (or stupid) to do it where they would probably get arrested or it would be in a designated place that allows it.

And again, nationality is irrelevant.
It all depends on the individual whether they choose to go topless or not.
You can't paint people of a certain nationality or whatever with that brush - it is an individual choice.

Majority Asian women will not, I can guarantee that!

Nationality does play a part. So does culture.

I have nothing against women sunbathing topless, but I find it unprofessional when they do it infront of bosses and colleagues, during work trips. But I am told European women do that ALL THE TIME.

The title of the topic is "Question for European women". As I am not a woman, if you want me to shut up, just tell me.

However, I am a European, and I have travelled in a lot of European countries. And I can tell you: there will no doubt be exceptions, but European women certainly don't do it all the time.

Liberated Muslim women will follow the western ways and go topless if they want to.
As for work trips (which you didn't say in your OP), who on earth goes on a 'work trip' with a view to going topless - unless that was the reason for such a trip??
And if that's the case, topless would be the order of the day, boss or no boss!

And NO, European women don't do it all the time.

No topless wasn't the order of the day, but it's more like chilling at the hotel pool during work trip.

No they do NOT do it all the time.

Since Freikörperkultur (FKK) alias naturism alias nudism has been a German invention I 'll explain a bit: The idea behind it was to enjoy nature "as god created it (including oneself)" and thus to create spaces (predominantly) in nature where humans could move naked, enjoy the sun asf asf.
There is a small nudist infrastructure where one can be naked because everyone else is too (and this is important! not only women topless/naked but everybody): mostly some beaches, a few mountain resorts, and saunas. (In Germany, Scandinavia and a few other countries people are naked in a sauna, in others it is forbidden or at least not welcome).

Some tourist resorts in southern europe but with predominantly northern european customers have nudist areas but it is explicitly forbidden outside (like in Greece). Many baltic coast beaches in Germany have nudist areas, but not so in neighbouring Poland. (Sometimes irritating for both nations on Usedom island ...)

Your question about work colleagues, bosses etc has a major flaw. Holidays are to get away from those, and to spend time with family and friends, not colleagues - and usually there is no time to go swimming at a nudist beach on a work trip. So the chances that these things happen in the way you asked are close to zero.

So it is dependent on where you are, it rarely happens indoors any way, and usually outside your job environment.

Which is exactly why I specifically mentioned go topless infront of your colleagues and bosses! Because it was a traveling work trip. I think it's super unprofessional, but the European men assures me this is completely normal and European women do it all the time.

Again, no, European women don't - unless they are on friendly terms with all the others.

I fear these guys had typical male ideas, not necessarily European ...

And I agree with you, it is not professional (but I would not take it too serious either ... tell them you are not into seamless tanning and that should be sufficient as an explanation).

"men" is plural, "assures" is singular. So what are you talking about: several European men, or only one?

Why don't you believe blnymph and me? If you want to become aroused by continuing to dream about European women doing so all the time, please do so. But don't expect Europeans to tell you that this is reality.

I am not being pressured to sun tanning topless. I am just annoyed that these women chose to sunbathe topless in a hotel, in a business trip. Their male colleagues, some of them in higher management, aka bosses above them, fellow Europeans, told me, this is normal for European ladies, it's nothing, when I mentioned to them that this was unprofessional!

So I am trying to figure out if the men was just enjoying the sight and telling me to stop being prudish or is this really very normal.

I never said ALL Canadians. I said I didn't know Canadians are so conservative. The incident involved Canadians.

It is not very normal but no big business either - and I guess the males were just like any males enjoying the sight. And probably not much to be prudish about depending on circumstances which are a bit unclear though from what you told.

From what you told first it sounded rather like they had invited you to join the other girls which would not be a gentleman's behaviour. If your discussion with the males just had the purpose to explain cultural differences, then yes it is no big business here - depending on local and social circumstances. Maybe decades of bare tits on display daily in tabloids have softened the social attitudes to the real thing a bit. (At least if so it would have done some good after all ...)

Having worked a lot with Scandinavian countries, nudity is not a big deal. The difference is that they don't automatically equate nudity with sexuality. In Finland it's pretty normal to go to the sauna together after work, it's like going to the pub or a meal after a day's work or a negotiation and being invited to go to the sauna is just politeness, you're invited in something that is very healthy. It's not sexual and it's not unprofessional, if somebody would leer, that person would be sharply called back to planet earth and acceptable behaviour.

For the record, where was this hotel? In which country? Because I travel a lot and most hotels have pretty strict rules, especially if they cater to international business clients, very different to hotels that cater mainly to people who go on "drinking vacations".

As I have spent a fair amount of time in Germany, I can say it is fairly common in Germany. Germany has many nudist beaches. In hot tubs and saunas it is more common to be nude than not.

In Germany, nudism is know as Freikoerperkultur, or in English the Free Body Cuture. The English Garden in Munich has 2 large Freikoerperkultur areas which I have been to. I think almost every major city has at least one Freikoerperkultur area for people to sunbath in the nude.

You cannot sunbath in the nude everywhere in Germany. Only in designated areas. But there are a lot of those areas :)

On an unrelated note, the Park Hilton in Munich was one of the most popular hotels for musicians, we always wondered why. It was not a bad hotel, just a bit further away from the action than the usual hotels in the city center... During one music business party I brought it up and how much it puzzles me, the answer was pretty simple, it overlooked the English Garden and the the nudist zones, however none of the musicians ever had the balls to ask for a room overlooking the nudist area, so it was hit and miss, but they all came equipped with binoculars.
Made me laugh, you'd think rockstars have their pick and there are hundreds of nubile girls willing to drop the clothes and parade around naked and more, however it's not as exciting as looking down at perfectly average bodies sunbathing in the buff... Something your average European mainlander just goes "Yeah, they aren't wearing clothes, what's the big deal?"
