There may be a few non FFL sellers wandering among the others attending the show, but it's really not that many, and they're usually not selling anything really good.

I am an FFL and attend many gun shows, but do not sell there, and I can tell you that not that many is not a useful number nor an accurate depiction.

38 mins sound very long to purchase a gun. I thought it would be easier? What's causing the delay?

Although this is rather absurd.

Shop workers told us we’d have to wait if we wanted to buy a smaller gun. There’s a three-day waiting period for handgun purchases in Florida, but that rule does not apply to rifles.

Whoever made up that rule! I am really curious precisely what is the rationale?

He had to fill out the paperwork, the salesman had to call it in, it had to run through NICS, get permission to make the sale. Then do the paperwork connected to the sale. Then they had to pay for it and at some point get the firearm out of storage. 30 to 40 minutes easy, if there are no hangups.
So they are upset because a person with a spotless record could make a legal purchase of a legal product without spending the whole day doing so. Oh the horror!

Lawmakers in some states require a "cooling off" period for handguns because the think a normally peaceful person will get mad, buy a handgun, then go right out and kill someone with it.

Since you seem to favor UK/Australian gun control measures why do you sell guns at all, and if you don't sell why do you have an FFL.

Why is it of concern to you?

Note several things, what you think things seem has been proven to be factless and hallucinatory repeatedly and constantly, and are of such a mental defect you cannot understand plain English, and play at mendacity rather than understanding and fact.

I have put that fucker out here left and right, see; I prove my shit welfare patient.
I have not ever once intimated, implied, said or any other combination or possibility, that I am against selling guns (with reasonable restrictions).

I have more interesting things to do than take a census there, but "not that many" is the most accurate description I could think of for it. Say, maybe one in fifty in line to get in with something I notice, and if I don't notice it they're not likely to make a success of selling it. But then at the exit, I see some good few leaving with what they brought. Asking too much? Nothing interesting to sell? Whatever the case, the gangs are not loading trucks full there and taking them to Chicago.

mnottertail -> RE: 38 min. to buy AR-15, run on them in Orlando (6/17/2016 2:02:58 PM)

Approximately 5K gun shows occur in the US every year. Not that many and then another a lot, and at 5K times it adds up.

No trucks were loaded full and driven to the Pulse in Orlando either, by example, nor Compton, New Town, Aurora, nor a great many places.

Well, thats not true, a truck full of cops was driven to the Pulse in Orlando, and for all the oh, if a citizen had a carry (there were those there who did) they wouldnt have and didnt do shit, it was 11 cops loaded to the gills that it took

Yeah. Texting and AR-15s. An association everyone makes.

[8|]

Call your pharmacy.

Hey... texting while firing guns is the real problem... the orlando shooter was on Facebook during that massacre.

Besides, guns don't kill people... bullets do. Gun fanatics should focus on the real issue. A bullet is deadly no matter what type on gun it comes out of.

Musicmystery -> RE: 38 min. to buy AR-15, run on them in Orlando (6/17/2016 2:25:40 PM)

They come out a lot faster depending on the weapon.

It's silly to pretend that doesn't matter.

mrevibo -> RE: 38 min. to buy AR-15, run on them in Orlando (6/17/2016 4:18:08 PM)

Of course it matters, that's why I have different guns for different purposes. Just a few minutes ago I terminated a squirrel with my pellet rifle, but that wouldn't be well suited to confronting a home invasion, and the .45 I'd use for that wouldn't stand off a group of rioters well, but the 5.56 AR I'd use for that wouldn't take a deer reliably unless I traded uppers for the 300BLK or .458 SOCOM, which wouldn't take out anything at 1000m, but the 7mm Rem Mag would have vaporized the squirrel and left nothing to eat. Next time I live trap one I'm saving the head so I can taxidermize it and make it into a quadcopter.

Musicmystery -> RE: 38 min. to buy AR-15, run on them in Orlando (6/17/2016 4:27:14 PM)

You stand off groups of rioters often, do ya?

We would have been locked and loaded within five minutes, but the gun shop employee we spoke to said the queue on background checks was longer than usual because people were scrambling to buy AR-15s in the wake of the shooting. That’s both terrifying and unsurprising — gun sales often skyrocket after mass shootings.

sounds like these shootings are good for business! [8|]

mrevibo -> RE: 38 min. to buy AR-15, run on them in Orlando (6/17/2016 4:56:14 PM)

No, and I don't put out fires often either, but I have fire extinguishers. Ask the Korean businessmen in LA after the Rodney King riots, or in Ferguson, what they found effective in protecting what was theirs.

What gun law discussed on here have you ever disagreed with?

mnottertail -> RE: 38 min. to buy AR-15, run on them in Orlando (6/17/2016 6:55:54 PM)

What shit on here havent you felched?

The laws, never disagreed with them, although some are absolute horseshit, what I have had issue with is they are not really effective. they are not complete and as always pervert and prevent individual accountability.

Not what this country is about.

So you have found no anti gun law offensive, but you are not anti gun, think about it. The vast majority are bs, and most only affect honest people.

I desperatly want them to fix the NICS system, it diesn't matter how many people you check if the states don't put in the right info (Va Tech), if the locals don't put in the info they have (Charlestown) if the FBI doesn't process info properly (again Charlestown) or NICS ignores when the dealer tells them he doesn't think they sould let him have the gun (both Orlando and Fast and Furious) . It does no good when a man is reported is reported to the FBI three times he admits to his intend to die a martyr and they just let him walk (again Orlando). Magazine limits are a waste of time. Do something right before, like Hillary you start talking about a manditory buyback, uncontitutional by the way. Gun bans like Chicago and DC were abject failures, surely you opposed them.

Here is a sensible gun law, ten extra years for committing a felony with a firearm. Why don't we hear anything from the gun control crowd about gun saftey courses in schools? Make it an elective and teach responsible ownership.

On the other hand MR Rogers says ownership is ok but that they need to be kept in a gun safe where you can't get to them at all times, and then argues that since they are then usless nobody has any reason to own them.

Joe preaches that the right to bear arms is a privilage only for militia memebers, granted to specific individuals by the government, does that soundlike a right to you?

Yeah, I have thought about it welfare patient, and I really dont give the glimmer of a good goddamn fuck what shit comes out of your mouth, you think about it welfare patient.

You are a vast majority of fucking cretinous shitbreathing, think about it. Don't pontificate to me what I think and pretending that you have some vast logical insight. You do not.

add 10 years to the felony of murder if committed with a gun? they already dont give a fuck. after dont help.

anyone should agree that NICS needs fixing all the way around so it is end to end.

I see that you still cannot engage in a civil conversation.
I didn't say a murder I said any felony, for example armed robbery even if no one is injured.

According to some the problem is due process.

quote:

http://www.businessinsider.com/joe-manchin-due-process-gun-control-2016-6

A US senator bemoaned Thursday morning that the constitutional right to due process "is what's killing us right now."

Democratic Sen. Joe Manchin said on MSNBC's "Morning Joe" that the right to due process, guaranteed by the Fifth Amendment of the US Constitution, had made it difficult to pass gun-control legislation denying those on the FBI's terror watch list the ability to purchase a firearm.

"The firewall we have right now is due process," the West Virginia senator said. "It's all due process."

In the aftermath of the Orlando terror attack, which claimed the lives of 49 people, Democrats have renewed calls for legislation aimed at blocking individuals on the terror watch list from being able to buy a gun. Republicans have argued against such legislation, contending it would be wrong to strip citizens of their Second Amendment right without being convicted of a crime.

Manchin noted that the FBI "did everything they were supposed to do," but had "no way" of blocking the Orlando attacker from purchasing a firearm. The bureau conducted two investigations into the shooter, 29-year-old Omar Mateen, but closed both after determining he was not a threat.

"There was no way to do that," he said.

The senator floated the idea of enacting a five-year cooling period, something he said could perhaps garner bipartisan support.

"So can't we say that if a person is under suspicion, there should be a five-year period of time that we have to see if good behavior, if this person continues the same traits?" he asked. "Maybe we can come to that kind of an agreement."

He added: "But due process is what's killing us right now."
