I have no problem stepping up to the plate.
In the course of the last three years, there absolutely have been times when I've heard people say the stalking issue just "isn't a big deal" or "that's not really a threat" or people saying "it's all your fault"... Some days, those things are easier to tangle with than others. I can promise you I did a sh^t job of it days like my (adult) kid called me up, crying her eyes out, because she was terrified the guy was going to kill me or the various times well meaning individuals were warning me because they knew he was in my neighborhood and I'd better try to protect myself if I went somewhere. There were definitely days where I just wasn't prepared to "fight back" against opposing opinions and others where I did that my posts got pulled.

I don't rant and rave about it. (I'm sure some people might see it that way, sometimes.) Do I think trigger warnings are appropriate at times? Yes, I do. Ya know, some of those threads on stalking, assault, etc that have been pulled, because the f^cking perpetrators are the persons reporting them, aren't always a walk in the park. I couldn't give you an exact number, but yeah, there have been posts and/or threads where somebody talks about their experience, and they are talking about the same tactics used, where I'm not exactly sitting comfy. I mean, if you want to give it a shot, be my guest. If you're more perfect about it than I am, my hat is off to you.

Let's try again. You've called me a leftist before. I'll absolutely tell you that I believe I have certain privileges. I am white, straight, a cis-gendered female, I'm middle class, and at least sixteen other things that make me say I have more advantages than other people do. Recognizing that is not supposed to be a bad thing.

Do you want to back the truck up for just a minute. I, and several others, who you have tried to tag as "leftists" as a dirty word, have made a lot of posts over the years, when we've actually agreed with you when you've had a point. Is it all of the time? No. Some of your stuff is pretty out there, but when you talk about stuff like the prison sentencing gap, etc. Those are valid points.

I don't know if I'd go that far. Reputations and positions have something to do with it. There's a country saying that goes, "the sun shines even on a dog's ass every once in a while". That doesn't mean it still doesn't sh^t on a regular basis.
