So many of know that spankings make for great sexual foreplay, I think many indulge in it. As a switch male, leaning toward submissive, I had a crazy fantasy, to be spanked immediately AFTER orgasm by a strong domme who could really dish it out. I chickened out once, because after orgasm, the LAST thing you want is a hard spanking. But I just went through with it a few days ago. She tied me down so I could NOT chicken out. Believe me, it was NOT fun. The spanking hurts many times worse with no arousal to take the edge off the pain. I begged for mercy, unsuccessfully. Seems like this kind of spanking might be very useful when serious discipline is needed. Believe me, a spanking of this kind would deter bad behavior. I wonder of others have ever given or gotten this type of spanking.

This makes no sense for disciplinary purposes. Disobedient subs don't get to come right before they are about to be punished -- what you describe is a moot point.
The admixture of erotic sensations mingling together would cause confusing associations to be made, and end up having the opposite effect intended.

The only time I can see this scenario unfolding for Punishment, is if it meets both of these criteria:
1. As part of Orgasm Control, sub ejaculated before being given permission, and
2. Spanking is not enjoyable to the sub -- it is not ordinarily engaged in as Funishment.

For obvious reasons, Discipline/Punishment is not designed to be pleasurable. If it is even partially so, then the sub is getting rewarded for his disobedience.

ooooooooo spankings are fun, however things tend to get a little wet when I'm spanked, it's definitely not a punishment to me

I've had that same fantasy too, and also chickened out before partaking in it.

Once upon a time, there was a maternal spanker from upstate New York who used to make all of her naughty lads jerk-off right before she put them over her knee for a good hairbrushing.
