No ponderous and brow-furrowed discussions here about the theoretical possibility of 'right wing terrorism' here. The argument about whether Jo Cox's murder was a case of it has already been answered in the positive.

"A powerful committee of MPs is set to investigate the danger the political far right poses in the wake of the stabbing and shooting to death of Jo Cox."

Investigate? They will not take on the root cause of it - the tabloids (particularly the Murdoch group, DMGT, and Northern and Shell). They had them all by the balls after the Leveson inquiry, along with a large body of public opinion supporting change, and refused to act. Look at this crap:

It doesn't matter how intelligent or educated you are, the constant hammering on and on and on of this sort of propaganda will have an effect unless you're aware of the fact they're propagandizing you. Take a clearly vulnerable and impressionable mind like that of this Mair guy, subject it to this hateful horseshit day after day, convincing him that his entire world is constantly under attack, and it's not so surprising.

There needs to be a law that news organizations may only ever report fact, no opinion.

It is the kind of rags many seem to consider telling "the truth" because their bs is usually not repeated elsewhere.
We got only one of that kind here, "Bild," and over the years they faced numerous trials for publishing lies as facts which Bild lost. German press laws are a bit stricter than British but do not prevent that kind of propaganda rags completely - just make it a tiny bit more obvious maybe.

It is obvious (for those who want to see) who is behind it, and what agenda they follow.

All your newspapers in the U.S. are left wing popeye ? Don't you have that ex-Australia asshole Murdoch over there ? What papers and TV stations does he own now ? I can assure you that prat is so far to the right he needs a green light on his head if he foes swimming. He is a dog and a germ and should have been put down at birth and guess what ? I do believe he is a republican. He was certainly lib when he was here and that is right wing in this country

No, not "all" of them but certainly the vast majority.
There are leftie t.v. networks, CBS, ABC, NBC, CNN , and MSNBC and,....FOX which trounces them all in the ratings every week.
It's no big secret that "The Press" in the U.S. is overwhelmingly leftist.

You haven't even mentioned that hotbed of crypto-communism that is NPR!

The term "leftist" is an interesting one, I have a sense that it doesn't necessarily mean "far to the left", but rather "to the left of me".

Very interesting indeed. I got a suspicion all who use it on here define it that way.

It's the only cure that does work, as far as I'm aware.
The most interesting thing about a lot of the anti-intellectual blather that goes on is this assumption that intellectualism (hoch, ptooie!) is an innate quality, rather than something that almost anybody can acquire by educating themselves. Obviously, pig ignorance and the fuckwittery that goes with it must be guarded against any terrible facts that might harm it.

A question to the US posters here:
Should the one who supplied the the DIY plan for the gun used to shoot Jo Cox be prosecuted for supporting a terrorist crime?

then I would say you've failed on multiple levels.

Once again, you prove you know fuck all about fuck all. This was indeed a murder carried out by a right wing nut job who had subscribed to several Nazi type magazines.

This story can't be true. Everyone knows that Britain's "sensible" gun control laws stop gun crime. It's why we should adopt those laws, here. /sarcasm

Michael

You can poke your sarcasm up your arse and just remember one simple fact, we have very few gun murders in the UK compared to the US.

Can you fill us in on the circumstances? Was it another terrorist who supplied the plans or were these plans in the public domain and for sale to any interested party?

You guys in G.B. are lucky then.
The only kind of press we have here in the U.S. are left wing goose-steppers some of whom get a funny feeling up their legs when they see a picture of Obama.

Why do you think rupert murdoch is a left winger?

I read that he'd got them from a US neo Nazi organisation. My impression was that he had to contact them personally and that he hadn't just picked them up off some website - but I could be wrong.

I can't give you much more detail than what was released by the police so far. I guess those circumstances are still under investigation.
