ORIGINAL: MrRodgers I am just not so sure the founders knew what they were doing when all they had at the time were flintlocks. Did they ever imagine a rifle that could fire 30 rounds in less than a minute just by 30 pulls and be reloaded in a few seconds ? (like the AR-15) I don't think so. The Belton rifle was offered to the Continetal Congress but they couldn't afford it. The Belton was demonstrated to fire 20 rounds in 5 seconds and it used cartriges, most likely paper cartriges. By the time of the Bill of Rights the Austrian Army had a 30 shot air rifle, Lewis and Clark also had one. Then there was the Ferguson 10 shot rifle, it's inventor and proponent was, fortunately for us, killed at Kings Mountain. So yes, they did know about weapons with far more firepower than the single shot musket or muzzle loading rifle (while you may not know it they weren't the same thing). They also allowed people to own thier own cannons. If you dont know that air is a gas, that might be another reason you were RIFfed from the quasi-military service called the Air Force. And if you don't know that a gas operated autmatic rifle and an air rifle aren't the same thing you are a smart as Thompsonx. Since you cant even spell it, we know you dont know but both were fired by gasses Now I dont know enough of that particular rifle to say if that one was automatic or not, but both were fired by gasses. And you are as fucking stupid as they come, not possessing the brains of a fucking ice cube, welfare patient. Automatic has nothing to do with whether or not air is a gas, dumbass, but toiletlicking more lies and more factlessness than you always do after you got schooled might be another reason your were RIFfed, welfare patient.
