Perhaps, like quite a few others that don't know how to use the boards, it's time you learnt how to use it properly. Find the post you want to reply to and hit the "Reply" button. If you want to include what they typed, use the "Quote" button instead and it'll include their post in your reply - something that Thomson hasn't mastered yet. That way, the name of the person you are replying to will show at the bottom of your post regardless of how many other posts appear in the thread when yours is submitted. The white box at the bottom will just add your post to whoever was last in the thread at the time and I'm guessing it was designed to be a 'general' reply box to nobody in particular (ie, a "Fast Reply").
