Status: offline 		Skagit County Sheriff Will Reichardt said on Facebook that after four deputies finished lunch at Lucky's Teriyaki in Sedro-Woolley Thursday, the owner asked them not to eat there anymore.

Reichardt says the deputies were told that customers didn't like law enforcement there. The sheriff says his chief deputy called the owner later Thursday and says the request was confirmed along with a request to spread the word among other law enforcement agencies.

You tempted me to say "Now I have seen everything" but I will not because every time I do the world outdoes itself.

But I really doubt I have read about anything this stupid. You own a business and alienate the local cops ? Most businesses WANT the cops to come to their place, EVEN ILLEGAL AFTER HOURS JOINTS. Just not on duty. Some feed them or let them drink for free.

Must be something in the water.

How is this different than the cake drama? There is more than one restaurant in ceedro wooly. and forks is only a few miles down the road and they have restaurants there also?
He can ask them not come into his restaurant but he cannot refuse service just because they are cops.
Are the cops somehow not to do the job they are sworn and paid to do?

wahhhh, a news source that shows another point of view besides my collectivist/progressive/leftist one.

they report on many thousands of stories a year, exactly how many does it take that they don't quite get right for some reason (no doubt only nefarious and incompetent ones according to you lefties), statistically for them to be "unreliable" as opposed to your visiting points one and two above----over and over until you get it??

Not to mention using Facebook as a source . . .

In this case, Facebook would be considered the most legitimate primary source available. It is a statement made directly by the organization targeted, and continues to be updated with comments directly by them.

If it were being posted by someone else on Facebook, based on secondhand or thirdhand info, that is a different matter entirely.

To be honest, I didn't realise how bad it was over here until a few years ago. In Australia, shootings are rare and our own version of the racial issue is the appalling number of Aboriginal deaths in police custody.

Basically black men are stereotyped as crack-dealers, muggers and murderers. And certain police forces don't seem to have gotten the memo that African Americans are entitled to equal treatment under the law. There's been a spate of cops murdering black people including one cop who shot a black man in the back, then tried to plant a gun on him - all caught on video.

African Americans are disproportionately stopped and arrested. And some cops are clearly redneck fucking thugs.

Despite this, there are a large contingent of police officers who honor their sworn duty and do attempt to protect and serve. However this doesn't erase the systemic bias which appears to exist in police departments all over the USA.

I agree with this. To help understand the psychology behind the issue with one persistent example of this, is that Marcus Allen is pulled over almost every time (no longer...every time) he drives his Ferrari into LA.

To understand the DWB syndrome (driving while black) you must understand that this man played 4 years at USC (Univ. of So. Cal.) was a Heisman trophy winner, played pro ball for 17 years several years in LA (LA Raiders) and is now a CBS football analyst. (also pro HoF) Now 56 was pulled over for driving while black until in his 50's. Don't honestly know in the 6 years since.

OJ had a Ferrari and was pulled over for DWB until his endorsements put his face out there. Many other black athletes and celebrities go through this.

Robert (Bob) Johnson a middle-aged black man, (founder of BET and a billionaire) was seen walking past a restaurant. White man pulled up in his car and threw him the keys, thought he was the valet. There's more, most of comical...if you aren't black.

consider this, lets take oreilly for example. on any given oreilly factor, there are at least a half dozen, up to lets say 10 different stories/issues being shared---times 5 days a week---times 50ish weeks a year---times 20 yrs. so, oreilly's covered/talked about anywhere from 30,000 to 50,000 stories or updates of stories or variants of stories...

now multiply that times all the other news hosts and commentators they have and you come up with many hundreds of thousands instances of news and commentary.

exactly how many out of bill o'reilly's 30-50k has he gotten wrong, such that he is not "reliable?"

how many of those many hundreds of thousands has fox news gotten wrong, such that they are not "reliable?"
