how interesting that you continue to use homosexuality in a derogatory way and none of your fellow comrades take you to task for it. it must be that their combined hatred for everything republican trumps your not toeing the party line in that regard.

Considering The Republican's platform on gay rights could you not say Lucy's post is not derogatory but pointing out hypocrisy?

Have you not noticed that a lot of these rightards seem convinced that if they can suggest something a lefty says is hypocritical, then no moral argument against anything their shower of neocons, "libertarians" and monetarists say or do can be sustained any longer? Weird attitude, but I suppose it's a lot easier than constructing a coherent argument.

But that show of unity was not enough to cover up the divisions among delegates in the room.

Divisions!! Good grief, man, know your history before you write. Three role calls were needed to nominate Lincoln in 1860.

One hundred three (103) were needed in 1924 to settle on a Democratic nominee.

I was just watching Bernie speech. Hillary really don't deserve to win. Ya see people were crying in the audience over Bernie injustice.
And for such a old fellow, he inspired young people, that is amazing.
And I feel Clinton is super bitch and super spiteful for not even choosing Bernie as VP.

mnottertail -> RE: Democratic National Convention (7/29/2016 9:04:36 AM)

There is a good reason not to have Bernie as VP, if the downtickets get ate up democratically.

Lucylastic -> RE: Democratic National Convention (7/29/2016 9:15:04 AM)

I wanted bernie to pull off a miracle... I haz a sad.
But yep, there is a lot at stake with the senate/congress tickets.

But....the movement he started wont end... the DNC acted horrendously AGAIN.
If the GOP had put up anyone but trump(ok cruz maybe too)
I would be expecting a republican for Pres
In my view Hils is repub lite.
I wonder how long her left leaning swerve will last...not long enough for my taste.

Muslim Americans in the American Military who died in war? It means nothing to me. If they chose to join the military, they jolly well be prepared to sacrifice their life in war, after all, betrayal would mean, their military commander would just shoot them anyway for treason. (Okay, they would in my country's military, not sure about the US one)

And this dude is exaggerating. Trump wants to find a way to let harmless Muslims in and keep bad Muslims out.
Another exaggerated BS.
So if he was a good Muslim, he would have been able to enter America eventually, once they figure a better vetting process.

CreativeDominant -> RE: Democratic National Convention (7/29/2016 9:20:27 AM)

As I said:

From NBC: . There's nothing subversive about the former secretary of state, aside from her gender. So instead of reinventing the wheel, Clinton exceeded expectations by being her best: Forceful and cogent in a masterfully executed speech."

From The New York Times: Mrs. Clinton radiated confidence, from her pungent delivery and easy laugh to the unusually expressive ways she shifted her tone and delighted in her own best lines. She smoothly acknowledged her own limitations and trust issues as a public figure and forcefully challenged Mr. Trump over his claims that he alone could fix America’s problems.

From the Washington Post: "Hillary Clinton sought to transcend doubts about her character by presenting an uplifting vision for the nation's future, delivering the biggest speech of her enduring public life here Thursday as she formally accepted the Democratic presidential nomination."

In an address that electrified delegates and put a personal exclamation point on the four-day Democratic National Convention, Clinton yoked the history of Philadelphia, the cradle of American democracy, with her own historic candidacy to become the country’s first female president.

So there are no consequences for soldiers who fail to march forward, drop their arms and refuse to listen to the commands to attack their opponents? And if this was in a live battle field, then what happens?

I would describe her speech as the Roast of Donald Trump really.

Yea, because to me, regardless of your religion or race. When you join the military, you sign up to sacrifice your life for your country. So just because his a Muslim who died in war doesn't make him more special than any other soldier who is not Muslim that died in war. They went in equally, all to sacrifice their lives. And unlike my country, I believe people in the US has the choice. In my country, nobody has a choice, every male is forced into the military against their will. So different thing.

In my country or in the US?
In my country, every man will tell you, it's true, it's what they are told. As high probability of them disobeying because they were not in the military voluntarily, so they were told they would be shot IF they refuse to fight.

Maybe voluntary military has different ways of dealing with it.
