The trouble with that Nick is that now you're using the tactics of feminism in an attempt to discredit your opponent. Feminists are the ones who use censorship and personal attacks on their opponents and it's the primary reason why their arguments are so weak. They focus on the individual and not the argument.

No. He discredited himself.

Are you really going to tell me you thought that crap was ok?

No, of course not, but are you really going to tell me that you think telling him he's a bad person is going to move him one iota?

Ad hominem is the weakest of all arguments. You regularly see the misandrists in this forum employ it on an ongoing basis, so their outrage when it's done to them is rather hypocritical. Stef never contributes anything to any single discussion beyond vitriol at whatever man is a part of it. It's hardly surprising that Nick would eventually bite back. Regardless, such tactics demean him and are an inherently weak aspect of feminist dialogue (although "dialogue" is a misnomer because feminists tend to lecture rather than engage in discussion.)

Because of course, no male member of the media has ever tried to silence a feminist.

Whether he changes the behavior or not is not the point. There's also the part about people who don't find that kind of thing acceptable to stand up and say so. That wouldn't have been ok no matter who the target was or where the pictures came from. She has the right to post her pics on other sites if she wants to. He has no right to post the links here.

No. He didn't bite back. In posting those links, he crossed the line. What good does it possibly do but to sabotage his own argument? He could barely make points prior because a lot of the time, his own white noise posts tend to drown out the times he's got something worth saying. He's the gender argument's epitome of the chicken little fable, so when something is a decent concern, his reputation blows it for him.

So, this is the standard now? I can't believe this site hasn't pulled that post.

Well, the American media is explicitly leftist now so no - that pretty much never happens. However both old and new media (facebook, twitter) are very obviously censoring any views which don't toe the lefist line on pretty much any topic you care to name.

That strikes me as the kind of pointless Twitter advocacy which achieves very little. Nick's received nothing but opprobrium in this forum anyway, so more of the same really makes no difference. Social feedback only works if people have an investment in the social community

quote:

I doubt that. If the target was a dude, there'd be no problem - certainly there's no shortage of anti-male bigotry in here. And there's very little difference between referring to pictures on someone's profile (which the women in here do often) and short-cutting the process by actually linking to them. Nick's probably breached some kind of site rule with a direct link, but ultimately this is pretty much in line with the kind of tactics employed by women in here whose idea of criticism is to refer to someone's profile and then criticise the way they look.

quote:

She has the right to post her pics on other sites if she wants to. He has no right to post the links here.
People have the right to operate within site guidelines, but given that you need a fetlife profile to view the pictures and that anyone here who can view them can go search out her profile for themselves and that consequently the pictures are public to anyone with a fet profile, I really don't think you can seriously imply he's done something terrible. Certainly I doubt stef gives a shit.

quote:

No. He didn't bite back. In posting those links, he crossed the line.
I think you'll find those lines are incredibly arbitrary and depend largely upon who's involved.

quote:

What good does it possibly do but to sabotage his own argument?
I agree, but stef doesn't really do anything here except spout vitriol at anyone with a cock, so it's not like there's a moral high ground here.

quote:

Pretty much everyone reacts because of who he is, not the content he presents.

*shrug* Lucy is pretty much doing the same thing these days with constant links to her idea of how men are terrible people, but she's a woman so she gets a pass.

quote:

I think you'll find mean personal attacks has been the standard here for some time, it's just that some people do it obliquely and they've been allowed to get away with it. I think criticising someone's appearance is crossing the line, but Nick's certainly not the first person to do it so becoming outraged when HE does it tends to smack of hypocrisy.

Is Playboy not part of the American media, then?
Extract from a memo written by Hugh Hefner calling for a rewrite of the first piece on feminism to be commissioned by his jazz mag in 1969:
quote:

The women’s movement is rejecting the overall roles that men and women play in our society—the notion that there should be any differences between the sexes whatever other than the physiological ones. It is an extremely anti-sexual unnatural thing they are reaching for. It is now up to us to do a really expert, personal demolition job. Clearly if you analyze all of the most basic premises of the extreme new form of feminism, you will find them unalterably opposed to the romantic boy-girl society that PLAYBOY promotes. Doing a rather neutral piece on the pros and cons of feminism strikes me as being rather pointless for PLAYBOY. What I’m interested in is the highly irrational, emotional, kookie trend that feminism has taken. These chicks are our natural enemy — and there is, incidentally, nothing that we can say in the pages of PLAYBOY that will convince them that we are not.
We must destroy them before they destroy the PLAYBOY way of life.

In this case, the objective article under discussion, written by Susan Braudy was pulled in favour of a hatchet job on the feminist movement by a male writer. Yep, the leftist media definitely bends over backwards to favour the female voice...

What to the "majority of lefties" have to do with Poor Little Nicky's actions?

The best you've got to support your claim is a porn purveyor's memo that is nearly 50 years old?

You're an idiot.

WhoreMods -> RE: Feminists want equality, except when paying for dates (8/16/2016 10:52:27 AM)

There's plenty more, but I thought you might find the origin of the ongoing media hatchet job on feminism of interest. Obviously, thinking that was giving you too much credit.

The majority of the media is explicitly indulgent of feminism and makes no attempt to validate its wild claims. The exceptions are generally conservative and libertarian media organs who tend to disapprove of censorship.

WhoreMods -> RE: Feminists want equality, except when paying for dates (8/16/2016 11:32:04 AM)

Got anything to substantiate that sweeping statement?

respectmen -> RE: Feminists want equality, except when paying for dates (8/16/2016 1:08:30 PM)

FR as on my phone.

I don't see it any better attacking soneone's character compared to their appearence. It's just simply attacking a different part about them.

People attack other people's appearance all the time. You're fat, balding men, small dick etc etc. As something awareness was saying. People react depending on who does it and to what person.

That's not quite intellectually honest. Several people, myself included, answered this thread with actual input to the discussion. My first comment on it was asking him if he had posted the same thread before, because I could have sworn we had the same subject way back when SxxxxofUxxx was still posting.

When have you ever seen me say anything that made you think I have ever thought it was cool to post another persons pics or links to those pics on a public forum? You know exactly how I feel about such invasions of privacy and if you don't, I'm going to say that one is on you, because you haven't paid enough attention.

quote:

He *didn't* operate within site guidelines. If I had Facebook and you did, too, and I found you pics on that site, should I be linking them here? No. If I did, you'd have every right to be telling me that I was a scum sucker for doing it.

What you think Stef thinks about it isn't the point, either. Unless he asked Stef if he had her consent to post the links to her other profile, he's in the wrong.

quote:

I agree, but stef doesn't really do anything here except spout vitriol at anyone with a cock, so it's not like there's a moral high ground here.

Does it really matter to you what kind of poster Stef is that she shouldn't have the same member right to privacy as everybody else? It shouldn't matter if you like her or you don't. If you wouldn't consider it ok to do somebody that you liked, you should feel the same about it, no matter which poster it happened to be.

quote:

Pretty much everyone reacts because of who he is, not the content he presents.

First to admit that I've told him in the past, could he, please, stop with the links where folks are screaming or it's just some dumb heavy metal noise at ridiculous volume levels. Not only do I consider the volume annoying, somebody writing a song (to put it kindly) doesn't verify anything more than someone's opinion.

quote:

*shrug* Lucy is pretty much doing the same thing these days with constant links to her idea of how men are terrible people, but she's a woman so she gets a pass.

If you are referring to the Brock Turner threads, I'd be shocked if anybody really thought that sentence was justice. When you catch people in the act, they should go to jail.

Sorry. It's not hypocrisy when violating somebody's privacy comes into play. It's a BS move and decent people shouldn't be thinking it's ok.

respectmen -> RE: Feminists want equality, except when paying for dates (8/16/2016 1:11:32 PM)

Oh by the way, where I linked her pics, she is the one who chose to make them public for anyone to see.

The people's criticisms would make sense and logic if I was to somehow expose a private pic of her that she chooses not to share publicly.

It has always been the policy of this forum that it is not okay to post someone's profile, regardless of where it comes from.

And the fact that you can't figure out that you've crossed a line is part of the reason why you have issues with so many people on this forum.

You're twisting things again.

COMMENT on someone's appearance all you fucking want. And you did.

But POSTING PICS is something else entirely. I think you know that but you're still trying to justify. But you're justifying by stating something that's already been covered...both in mine and in others' responses to you.

"Thanks" to LP for quoting this or I wouldn't have seen it, but you're mistaken, Lack Of Awareness. Unlike some people here who are troublingly obsessed with genitals, that's not a consideration when I post here. Say stupid shit, get called on it whether you have an innie or an outie.

Try to have at least a little more integrity than the other whiny babyman. It's a low bar, and even you should be able to clear that one.
