WickedsDesire -> Best worse film ever (7/31/2016 7:01:14 AM)

You are allowed only one choice and please include the you tube trailer

I had to have a thinky about this one
I chose The Warriors https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MV4cgs-bPic

Greta75 -> RE: Best worse film ever (7/31/2016 8:17:43 AM)

I'm gonna have to go with the latest Sasha Cohen Baron movie.

Or maybe The Interview

PS: I am interpreting "best" as terrible film but enjoyable.

PS: I am interpreting "best" as terrible film but enjoyable. close enough...or a film that should in theory be a piece of utter shit but was infact enjoyable to the nth extremity

i think they spent money on your two so I disqualified both - hell I was tempted to write big trouble in little china - a masterpiece but at 30 millions bucks budget ..I had to disqualify that from my choice

jlf1961 -> RE: Best worse film ever (7/31/2016 9:06:56 AM)

Alright, please elaborate on the 'rules' of determining choices.

Now, personally, I rate films a bit differently, including things like technical aspects, historic accuracy (example: "The Comancheros" with John Wayne, set in the days when Texas was an independent country, thus pre repeating rifles, with 1890 winchesters and colt peacemakers) as well as script, acting, and how it was filmed.

Therefore, before I can even suggest a best worst film, I do need some clarification on what you are looking for.

FYI, if you watch "Tora, Tora, Tora" during one sequence when a japanese torpedo plane is setting up on a target, you will see the USS Bainbridge in the background, the first Nuclear powered Destroyer.

Trancers

MasterCaneman -> RE: Best worse film ever (7/31/2016 7:30:34 PM)

Straight to Hell (1987), Joe Strummer, Courtney Love, and a Dennis Hopper/Grace Jones cameo, what's not to love?
Straight to Hell

What? You didn't say best cheapest made film. Budget had nothing to do with quality of the film.

I mean look at Blair Witch Project! So little money spent, excellent Movie!

If we're going by the criteria I saw going by, in the scroll, I will have to nominate: "KISS Meets The Phantom of the Park".

The movie was so bad, it was supposed to be a theatrical release, but wound up on television ... so bad that KISS, at the height of their popularity in the 80s (with Gene MAKING MOVIES, in Hollywood) couldn't get their next movie made (it seems like it would have been a good one).

Probably either Star Crash: The Advenutures of Stella Star (Star Wars rip off made for about a fiver starring Caroline Monroe and the Hoff, which makes the cheapest and shoddiest Roger Corman scifi potboilers look like Tarkovsky's Solaris by comparison) or The Robot Monster (Like Plan 9 From Outer Space, but with the budget going on a diving helmet and a gorilla costume, rather than Bela Lugosi). Both are breathtakingly crap, and great fun.

or as I prefer to call it, "KISS plays Scooby-Doo" [:)]

It's hard for me to choose because I love most B-grade horror flicks and there have been so many of those made. A particularly bad one that comes to mind is "Beast of Yucca Flats" (1961). But I'm nominating a movie I've actually never seen, "Troll 2". The reason I'm doing this is because it's apparently so bad, someone actually made a documentary about it. I've seen the documentary and because of it I refuse to watch the movie...lol.

Wayward5oul -> RE: Best worse film ever (8/1/2016 4:09:51 PM)

"Army of Darkness"...such a bad, bad movie but has its own cult following now, it is such a riot to watch.

DesFIP -> RE: Best worse film ever (8/1/2016 6:31:25 PM)

The original The Thing, from 1951.

WhoreMods -> RE: Best worse film ever (8/2/2016 5:01:01 AM)

Why are so many people naming excellent films in this thread?
The Warriors, Hawks' Thing and Army of Darkness are all great. (Trancers and Straight To hell aren't actively bad in any way shape or form either.)

MissShey -> RE: Best worse film ever (8/2/2016 5:32:34 AM)

Sharknado

Nuff said.

angelikaJ -> RE: Best worse film ever (8/2/2016 7:15:13 AM)

Mae West at age 85.

LOL All the evil dead movies were bad, but brilliant. Ash vs the evil dead was funny as a series.
Love love love Bruce Campbell....
Who's laughing NOW (when he cuts off the evil in his hand.)
I think my kids were weaned on his movies...
Didn't someone once call him the " "Laurence Olivier of bad movies,"?
Loved him in Briscoe County and the piratish one....damn what was it...Jack of All Trades.

I cant list all my best "worst" films, but when people mention them i get a nudge and say OMG. Yesssss
Leprechauns two was abysmal tho.

WhoreMods -> RE: Best worse film ever (8/2/2016 8:00:51 AM)

I've only seen the first Leprechaun. It's hard to dislike a film that features the line: "Burn in Hell, you little green bastard!" though.

kdsub -> RE: Best worse film ever (8/2/2016 10:45:39 AM)

The worse....The Island of Doctor Moreau.... HERE

The best ... Moulin Rouge... HERE And HERE And HERE

So shoot me

Butch

The primary reason that "The Thing" is usually listed is because people are looking at it from the age of CGI.

Now personally, any of the tremors movies would work, but primarily the first one. The only saving grace is Bert Gummer.

WhoreMods -> RE: Best worse film ever (8/2/2016 11:43:04 AM)

I don't buy that explanation: I've seen at least as many films that don't work with hilariously crap CGI effects as films that don't work with some poor fool wandering around in a crap costume.

(Is Bert Gummer the survivalist gun nut in the first Tremors?)
