You posted shangri la.

Edwird, I was making a comment about the insults in general, not just to you.

And, to be honest, I dont care what you did in the last two minutes or the last 10 decades or whatever, since I doubt it has impacted my life in any significant way.

And since you took my statement, without it directly indicating you as the reason for the statement, let me explain something.

Of the billions of stars in the billions of galaxies revolving around a central point in the universe, I am certain that you are not that central point.

Get over yourself.

But the universe is supposedly ~13.5 billion years wide, and we still can't get the telescopes to tell us where the perimeter is.

"Can't we all just be the center of the universe?"

Thanx and kisses.

Just for you ...

Even though at least three of your proposed 'facts' are entirely wrong, especially "Band of Gypsies," you still use those errors to dance your way around the fact that neither Clapton nor Hendrix use the wah-wah pedal all the way thorough their repertoire, and continue to avoid the subject at hand in any case.

Really? Which three would those be?

And sorry, no excuses that 'we are still trying to figure it out' just like they did in the good old days. It doesn't take 10 years for anyone not wearing a hearing aid to figure out a toy drum sound when they hear it, especially when more than adequate syndrums have been out for 15 years already. I can well assure you the foisting of sonic crap is I'm speaking of quite intentional.

Tell you what: when I no longer hear MOR slop like Rod Stewart's Sailing or Cat Steven's mind-numbingly tiresome '70s dreck on the radio or pub muzak, I might buy your argument that it shouldn't take ten years for shit to sink. As things stand, shit that's even older than I am is still getting a frequent airing.

Nice that you've narrowed your issue down to drum machines more than anything else, though. Moved into audio recording instead of performing because your band thought a small box from Roland would be easier to deal with and wouldn't bleat on about Hendrix and Clapton all the time, did we?

So now you admit outright that the Roland box, whatever that is, is just your thing.

Let's just narrow it further to your favourites, then ...

No musicians can do the 64th notes like in that "song."

You're right, musicians suck.

Edwird, you pretty much just crapped all over your argument, and yourself with the statement "Roland box, whatever that is" considering your claims of knowing music and sound equipment.

Perhaps you should look at what Joe Walsh, Don Felder, Orianthi, Randy Rhoads, Rudy Sarzo have in common aside from the instrument they play.

Give you a hint, professionals and amateurs alike swear by Roland Boxes and cubes.

No, I didn't take it that way at all, I took it that someone who said this crap;

"Drum machines, electronic instruments, etc have been a part of music since the advent of the microchip, and for good and bad."

"When first introduced, the Moog, was limited in what it could do, however, it did impact the music world in ways that resulted in pieces of music that could not have been created without it." etc.

obviously hadn't bothered to read anything that came before, which is what I pointed to specifically, not myself, whereupon both Whoremods and myself went over much detail on a number of electronic gizmos, by name, and their workings and uses. A good bit further than your fifth grade reader presentation, which though well after the fact, was presented as 'new and important information.'

Get over your own self.

Or learn to read a thread, one or the other.

I must be too old, when did that come out?
I was over and done with electric guitars and amps a long time ago.

Was I supposed to spend my money on a Roland box rather than the Guild F-4 twelve string that I got instead?

Is that when I "crapped all over myself?

Not gonna say what I paid for it, but I got $3,250 for the guitar when I sold it.

How much is a Roland box?

You basically said that you didnt know what a roland box was, anyone thats been playing knows what the fuck a roland is. Christ, as far as when it came out, try the fucking 70's when they introduced their first amp.

Even people who dont use them know what they are.

Edwird -> RE: Music of the 1960s What a pity we we not yet born. What a time we missed for sure. (8/18/2016 12:13:50 PM)

All I and my band knew about Roland (just from foggy memory) is that they made amps that nobody wanted.

I still have a Tremolux Fender amp, stored at my brother's, that I could get $1,800 for if I just threw it off. More if I made any effort. How much would a 1962 Rollodex amp fetch?

Were they made in '62?

I'm an idiot about Rollo, sorry.

I was in the music biz, bro.

Are you familiar with Steve Morse, The Dixie Dregs?

I mixed monitors and front of house for them a few times.

Do you think Steve Morse plays and fronts MusicMan Guitars and now never plays his supreme and excellent modified '58 Telecaster because the MusicMan sounds better?

Hardly.

Edwird -> RE: Music of the 1960s What a pity we we not yet born. What a time we missed for sure. (8/18/2016 12:39:12 PM)

I also spent $900 for a great piano for my brother that I nevertheless had to do 3 months' work on before I paid $600 to ship to him.

Holy crap!

Does that mean no Rolland box?

Oh, silly me!

This is so tiresome.

Hey boi, did you like that dance number"

I dig that stuff immensely.

You're more than welcome.

I used to have five different links for that stuff, and I can't find the others at the moment.

Another for boi ...

The original music vs. the original dancing are separate, but whoever did this timed it perfectly.
