A couple of weeks ago, I was putting my Kindle on the end table, bumped the screen and accidentally opened a profile. That lead to getting an email from a Dom/Domme couple that sad that they "consider it bad form" to view a profile without introducing themselves.

My personal view was that it seems desperate to email every person that views your profile and that the "bad form" comment was a guilt trip/manipulation.

I've also seen a couple of profiles from guys that view my profile that stated "If I have viewed your profile, you are commanded to email me".

So, I'm curious - anyone here email everyone that views their profile? Do you think it's rude if someone views your profile and doesn't email you? Do you expect someone whose profile you have viewed to email you?

If so, what are the reasons?

I always thought that the idea of profiles on here, was for people to look at and see if there was any connection. To take umbrage at somebody doing just that would seem to be an attempt to negate that idea. If somebody had sent me an e-mail like the one you got OsideGirl, they would have received a reply from me, politely suggesting them that they shove their opinions where the monkey shoves his nuts. I would be really interested to know what YOUR response was *smile*.

If I want to view a profile I log off first, because any time I have viewed a male profile while logged in, I get messaged and often there's the tone that I owe them a conversation or more since I must be interested in them.

There are all sorts of stupid demands and expectations made and held by men on the profile side. Honestly, IMO it's just another sign of the overall impairment of most guys there. I hid my profile awhile ago and like the effect.

I've never felt that anyone who views my profile owes me anything.

I can honestly say that I've never received a cmail like yours, from the dom/domme couple. How odd!

No, I don't cmail everyone who looks at my profile. I wouldn't consider it at all rude of them not to cmail after looking. I might well look at their profile, but I only rarely cmail them.

I do not email anyone who looks at my profile. If they are interested enough, they will send me an email.

I think my response would have been:
I looked, I saw nothing interesting in your profile, so no reason to email you. The end

I have said it before. People go apeshit if you view their profile but don't contact them. I actually had someone send me a nasty email one time bitching about how all I was doing was 'window shopping', so I needed to just leave the site if I wasn't serious.

Fuck yeah, I am window shopping. Get the fuck over it.

if you want to have some fun messing with them......find their profile again......block them.....then view them everyday for the next week or two.....

but to address your curiousity on the subject......to me.....it's like sending a "wink" like some sites have or have had......but it is also the only way that you can view their "interests" page.....if you had seen other things that prompted a degree of interest in them.....

I dont care who or what views my profile....

I am trying to find out who drafted me into the shoe clique!

Add to that they have the information wrong, I was a middle linebacker, never played on the offensive line at any time.

Finally, I do not wear shoes! boots or sandals (okay, I own a pair of deck shoes) and I only own a total of three pairs (was five, but Kera decided my well broke in sneakers (sole was separating from the upper) were chew toys.

So, actually drafted is not the proper term, shanghaied is closer to the truth, which is a criminal act under international law...

I only email those that view my profile, if they interest me.
If not, I'd ignore. Just like I'd ignore anybody who emails me that doesn't say anything interesting worth replying to.

I have always wished that the site would remove the Who is Viewing me section. I hate getting those "Thanks for looking at my profile" notes. Then sometimes I get the "I saw you looked at my profile and I looked at yours and we are not compatible." Sheesh, just looking at a profile. Sometimes I am intrigued by the nickname. Sometimes I look because of something they wrote in the forums. Sometimes I look because they are located somewhere close to where I am or will be going. Again, wish it were removed as the removal would improve things for me.

I think there should be a checkbox next to the profile that tells whether or not your profile made the person cum.

I figure people who viewed my profile but were not COMPELLED to message me don't want a connection with me badly enough.

I do, sometimes see interesting pictures, and click, to read interesting profiles, and strike up conversations that way, but nothing more than that.

Surely you just view a profile to find out more about someone. If you don't want that to happen, don't have a profile. I don't see the problem if you're not stalking someone. Some people come back to my profile every so often. I just assume they are looking to see what tragic guff I have written recently.

There are a small number of people who get upset if you view their profile and don't send them a message.

I get particularly confused when someone writes in their profile that they will block anyone who reads their profile and doesn't message them. Still struggling with the point of that one:
- You read the profile
- Think it's interesting but you wouldn't want to contact them
- You don't contact them
- They block you
- You are never know you've been blocked.

Even worse is when someone sends you a pissy message saying that you didn't contact them and "how dare you read their profile?". WTF do you do with that?

I've always thought I was doing people a favour by sending very few messages, being polite and always making it clear I'm not demanding a response, (specifically because I am aware that so many people get really upset when you don't answer a message).

You can't do right for doing wrong sometimes.
