Assuming Islam is such an intolerant, violent religion then why is it that I've never personally had any problem with any muslim.

Please get a grown up to explane how to use a dictionary and look up the difference between introduce and invent.
India did not invent the zero. The zero was invented by the sumarians about four or five melinia ago and sustained by the babylonians (300bc). The mayans independently invented zero from whole cloth six hundred years later. A couple of hundred years later the indians come up with a zero.

Oh for fuck's sake, A. I asked you about your opinion of Amartya Sen's view because it was of the most interest to me. You had blatantly avoided Sen's view - despite his being the first and the most prominent of the views I'd presented to you. I assumed you hadn't responded to that question because so many others had hit you in the meantime.

As it goes, international politics is not really my thing. However, I took a job examining 17 year olds some years ago in International Politics, so I had to mug it up. The 'clash of civilizations' thesis is always key - as are its standard criticisms by the heavyweight theorists of international politics today.

It would *really* help any discussion between you and I if you could make a strenuous effort to see things beyond a competition about knob-size between us.
