Its funny.

Greta, fat people should be shamed, their personal eating habits cost me money. If someone is one of the relatively rare cases where it is medical, they can tell me what institute is doing research for a cure so I can write a check.

wow you really are a dumb ignorant sock arent you.

PCOS effects approximately 25% of the female population. One of the symptoms is insulin resistance which causes weight gain. It has no cure. Start writing that check. Currently several Universities are doing research.

Donated. My daughter has it, but is skinny as a rail. She is in agony when the cysts burst though. Symptoms must be different depending on the person. Doctor gave no indication it affected so many.

well you did kind of prove it with your arrogance on PCOS. Let alone your ignorance of fat people
Did the doctor tell you about the causes, all of the symptoms, and fertility issues, as well as the diabetes, the pain and other stuff that might happen? Or did the doc just deal with your daughters personal ailments?

Ive had it for 15 years as well as endometriosis, Its only been in the last couple of years that the extent of the problem has been known, that research has been done and it being more understood.

No, I did not. You take very personal exception, understandably so, and are attempting to vilify what you consider a callous statement.

This has no meaning. Are you saying that I cannot tell when a person is fat? Perhaps that I am not sensitive to a condition that is overwhelmingly through personal choice rather than a medical condition?

I was not talking to you concerning her, and what passed between myself, my daughter and her doctor is none of your business.

And 30 years ago when I was diagnosed, treatment was refused unless you were suffering from infertility. From what I hear, that's still the case.

That's unconscionable. Why do they refuse to treat your diagnosed condition?

A callous statement? no I think its ignorant, your excuse to shame the fat says more about you than it does about them. Your prejudice, your ignorance, not theirs.

Yes, it is private and thats why Im wondering how you know what the doc said about the prevalence of endo.
I dont want to know what was said, YOU Put it out there, it doesnt matter "who" you were talking to.

I hope they do find a cure, because it is very likely my daughter and any grandaughters I have, may get it.

Thin with PCOS is a rarity (my mother is one), the majority have weight problems.

They actually think that the rate may be higher, but the problem is that many doctors don't bother to diagnose it.

At 17 years old, I went from being a healthy weight and gained 50lbs in year without anything in my changing. I lived on a horse farm, cleaned stalls, stacked hay, hefted 100lb grain bags and ran around massive horse shows for 8 months of the year.

Then it was made worse by what people think of as a healthy diet. I tried low carb on a fluke and it worked but I had no idea why. It wasn't until I was 28 and read an article in a magazine that I realized that it was most likely what was wrong. Even then, I had to threaten my doctor with reporting her to state before she would run the tests.

So, the reality is that fat shaming just makes those of us with health issues feel like crap. It was always so lovely to have someone say "I was hoping you were thin" when I consider it an accomplishment to maintain a size 8 since age 21. You can try to justify that fat shaming all you want, but the reality is that you have no idea what is going on in someone else's life. Next, we can tell people in wheelchairs that they can walk if they just try harder.

With me, they just put me on birth control to control my periods...which made the weight issue worse.

It was easier to do that than actually diagnose and treat the whole problem

Your personalized definitions of ignorance and prejudice are based in emotional manipulation. I made no judgement on fat people, I said they cost me money. They do. You are obviously offended for other reasons.

Who I was addressing about my daughter, and why, is the only importance to me. Your interpretation of what rights that grants you is of no importance.

I know about the suspected (and often seen) genetic component. I hope they find a cure to alleviate your symptoms and prevent your female offspring from having it.

Do not feel like crap. Caring what people think about your person is futile. There will always be people that dislike you, or don't approve of something you are or do. Ignore them. The only people that are important are those you care for or respect. Selecting those people is entirely in your power.

You see that as a judgment beyond my monetary concerns. I do not. I even specify those who are fat out of habit, not a medical condition. What is the core of your indignation? You have a medical condition. Why are you upset for those that choose to overeat?

Sounds like a chromium and/or vanadium deficiency to me. They cause diabetes. However the medical industry is not interested in curing anything, only treating it.

What's more HFCS, which is worse than sugar is known to cause obesity. And aspartame turns into an acid after digestion and makes your body acidic, which many people say is bad fro you. We use these things because South America is still pissed of at us over a few things in the early 1900s. If you want a Coca Cola with real sugar get Mexican or Kosher Coke. If you want ketchup without HFCS or aspartame you are limited in the brands, and they cost more, and thre Mexican or Kosher Coke costs about twice as much as well.

What's more even sugar is poison. The desire fro salt and sugar is driven by mineral deficiencies. It is like when your livestock starts "cribbing" which is to start eating rocks n shit. They have to mix a good mineral supplement into the feed for livestock so they even survive to slaughter age/weight. Unfortunately they also throw in some hormones to accelerate growth, and then the want the USDA to allow them to stop giving the supplements to the livestock like a few months before slaughter but in a surprising act they refused the request. This may have changed since I heard about it, all it takes is more money.

As far as it being hereditary, we need different mineral "signatures". Different amount of this and that. We are not all the same under the skin and heredity has something to do with the ratio of the different nutrients you need. What's more the food is diluted of these nutrients because of modern farming methods.

T^T

It is fat shaming everyone who is fat

How well do you think that would work in samoa?

and ugly shaming everyone who is ugly.

Ugly is in the eye of the beholder.

It is singling out on a group of people.

We single out the not ugly and fat ones and put them in the centerfold of adult magazines.

If it says, 'Aliens will come to earth and remove the black people first!" It is the same thing.

Being black is not a choice.

Also on top of that, I feel it's a total lie that exercise helps people lose weight.

Is this because you are stupid or because you are lazy?

Diet helps people lose weight.

If your diet is chocolate candy and diet pepsi then perhaps not.

Not exercise.

Jesus you are phoquing stupid.

Exercise is for improving your over all health and improve blood circulation and stronger heart and build muscles which have alot of health benefits. But lose weight?

Yes exercise burns calories...didn't you get the memo?

that's 90% diet.

Has it worked for you?

FR

A recent study supports the view that fat-shaming does not, in fact, work:
