This used to be my local band.

Love Shack

And you're not pissed off having to pretend to like that shite because they're the big local band?

The fact that they recorded anything else after Rock Lobster, and by doing so outstayed their welcome and their natural career arc as a short lived novelty band, obviously.

Ed, you're getting a little aggressive. You know you can't back that up. So take your meds.

Might be a bit late for that. You should see the tantrum he's just thrown in the 'sixties music thread over me questioning that punk and disco killed off proper musicianship...

He does that sort of thing. Claims to be expert, but when he's pressed for facts he lies.

Maybe you should explain that she can buy Double Tap ammo with an 80 gr Barnes TAX-XP bullet that has 1560 fops and 433 ft-lbs from a G17 which would pretty much provide the energy as from your big boy 1911.
I can buy surplus ball for a nickle a round...what does that double tap stuff run???about .80 cents a round?

No I usually buy 10mm Double Tap for about a buck a round. I reload everything else. I have bears and lions here that I prefer to have enough gun for. Double Tap loads three different velocity powders in separate operations to generate a high peak pressure that I don't have the equipment to measure. So I use it to carry and hunt. Besides, I like the owner. I just thought that the girly gun owner would enjoy a high energy non-lead load. You know, of course, that Condors eat the lead of wounded game and come down with the MAD HATTER disease.

It's probably been a while sense you saw surplus ball at a nickel. You probably stocked up. When you shoot it up you'll notice the price has escalated. Unless, of course, you've got an 'in' at the armory on base.

I'm hearing the new Corp M45A1 CQBP is shooting lights out. But it's only going to MARSOC and MEUSOC.

Ja, that stuff is getting to be 0.20 to 0.25 a round nowadays.

I am old and terminally frugal...a buck a round is not on my list.

There is a girl up here who hunts white bears with a pistol. She is/was a spokes model for the .454.

As I said I am terminally frugal.

When you shoot it up you'll notice the price has escalated. Unless, of course, you've got an 'in' at the armory on base.

If you take it home with you it is called stealing. If you shoot it up at the range on base you have someone else pulling butts and bringing you fresh targets.

I'm hearing the new Corp M45A1 CQBP is shooting lights out. But it's only going to MARSOC and MEUSOC.

Those boys just got their own insignia.

I reload my own .454 and carry that while hunting elk in grizzly country. The 10mm goes in a carry G29 that I can take anywhere and as long as the bear is 350 lbs or less I'm comfortable. I can't, technically, load 10mm that hot so I buy it. I can reload the .454 to as hot as I can handle. Although, my .454 has a cylinder to swap in that shoots .45 acp for plinking and I buy bulk for that.

I see your point on the range.

The dagger in the pin looks like a Gerber MII. It's a nice pin. My hunting buddy was a Marine sniper. He used to teach at the school in So CA. As you probably know all they do is train and certify. Later he went to Iraq in the Army. He told me he used to enjoy fucking with the Army officers by wearing insignia he'd earned in the Corp. I guess the scuba insignia was the most questioned badge by Army Officers. Apparently Army legs don't swim. This new pin would stand out.
