ORIGINAL: thompsonx ORIGINAL: Nnanji Maybe you should explain that she can buy Double Tap ammo with an 80 gr Barnes TAX-XP bullet that has 1560 fops and 433 ft-lbs from a G17 which would pretty much provide the energy as from your big boy 1911. I can buy surplus ball for a nickle a round...what does that double tap stuff run???about .80 cents a round? No I usually buy 10mm Double Tap for about a buck a round. I reload everything else. I have bears and lions here that I prefer to have enough gun for. Double Tap loads three different velocity powders in separate operations to generate a high peak pressure that I don't have the equipment to measure. So I use it to carry and hunt. Besides, I like the owner. I just thought that the girly gun owner would enjoy a high energy non-lead load. You know, of course, that Condors eat the lead of wounded game and come down with the MAD HATTER disease. It's probably been a while sense you saw surplus ball at a nickel. You probably stocked up. When you shoot it up you'll notice the price has escalated. Unless, of course, you've got an 'in' at the armory on base. I'm hearing the new Corp M45A1 CQBP is shooting lights out. But it's only going to MARSOC and MEUSOC.
