The whole issues may have been and I rather think so, is that she may have been starting out as they did but management wanted to see, make sure and then bring her pay to theirs, in 3 years and by which time I am sure, [they]...were making even more.
But here we go, again:
Knowing the insurance industry (as I used to. Fuck ObummerCare), I can tell you that if you and I are hired (entry level) the same day, we make the same amount of money (commission). If we out-distance our contemporaries, we might get moved to a supervisory position. What that means is I get my commission and a little piece of everyone's commission that works "under me". It's a glorified pyramid scheme.
Now, there are some positions where I'm sure some kind of salary enters into it, but for the most part, you make what you earn and a piece of what all your people earn. So, if I have more people working under me or, if I have the same amount of people, but they're producing more than your people, I'm going to make more money than you.
My book of business was pretty big, at the end. It's why I'm able to be retired at my young(ish) age, but the truth is: when I was actively working, I made almost as much money from my people as I made from my clients.
