ORIGINAL: BamaD You are entitled to your opinion, I see him as a cynical oppotunist taking advantage of the situation for personal gain. I was speaking about this with one of my professors, the other day. He's an avid fan of the NFL and has been for longer than I. I was on a jag about the absolute toothlessness of Kaepernak's "protest". He asked what I meant and I explained: Kaepernak didn't chose a form of protest that had any potential for negative effects on him or his career. I think this kind of supports your assertion and my suspicion of his motivation. Why didn't he refuse to dress for a game as a form of protest? Simple. He might have been fined/suspended/cut, if he had. At that point, if the team had cut him, it would have been "for cause". I haven't been able to find a legitimate source, but I've heard rumors that his mom disagrees with his chosen method of protest. I guess that could bring some negative consequences. Kaepernak's an entitled pussy, trying to become relevant in some way because the avenue that was open to him before is no longer available. His "ballroom days" are over. Michael I am sure you know that he was adopted. His father, who was black, abandonded him and his mother. His mother, who was white couldn't take care of him put him up for adoption. A white couple adopted him, cared for him, nurtured him. And now he is saying that America is racist? Everything he is or has came to him via white people and the arrogant SOB is, for his own agrandizement pretending that America is overrun with police death squads stacking up dead bodies in the streets. This whole thing is a slap in the face of his adopted parents.
