The overwhelming amount of the concealed carry numbnuts will run like cowards as they did in dallas and orlando.

Jeff that is not to only part of this conservative Republican legislature gun crazy law. Now in Missouri anyone can use deadly force with a firearm anyplace you feel threatened period. Not just your home or car or family...anyplace...time...or circumstance you feel there is a threat of bodily harm you can draw and fire away legally. There is no requirement to retreat...bast away.

Butch

You know that isn't quite accurate.
You need a good reason.
You have to demonstrate that it was reasonable in the situation.
And Constitutional carry is not stand your ground.

It is absolutely accurate... if you feel you are in danger of bodily harm you can shoot...that is the ONLY requirement.

Butch

What absolute crap!!! You show me one viable statistic by a law enforcement entity and I'll believe you.

In my area we have had two instances of defensive gun use that I can remember in the last year... and at least 20 local children killed or injured..and that is very conservative.

Butch

I have posted figures from numerous source including the FBI (verified by CDC) that shows 1.5 m + defensive uses. I have posted those figures several times and you just ignore them.

My memory must be fading... would you show me where I quoted to you any statistics such as above.

And why do you just ignore what law enforcement is saying about the new law.

Butch

You make these statements about kids getting killed every day in Mo and it just doesn't happen.

kdsub -> RE: Alright, I am a gun owner, but even I think this is nuts. (9/16/2016 8:28:13 PM)

I want to see a figure then from the FBI that states 500,000 defensive gun incidents.

No it says where a reasonable person would fear for their life or serious bodily harm, that is not the same thing.

FBI said 1.5 Bloomberg said .5.
I posted it before look it up yourself this time.
I am tired of posting things 5 and 6 times only to have people claim never to have seen it.

mnottertail -> RE: Alright, I am a gun owner, but even I think this is nuts. (9/16/2016 8:38:35 PM)

BUTCH hes got it fucked up as usual thru his nutsucker propaganda.

http://www.buckeyefirearms.org/myth-3-25-million-defensive-gun-uses-each-year-cant-be-accurate

FBI said 588, xxx and a nutsucker bullshit gun survey of 4770 or so phone answerers calculated out to 1.5 mill.

One (The FBI) is partial (but perhaps reasonable) fantasy, and the other is wholly nutsucker fantasy.

My primary difference with jeff is that I think children should be taught from very young to be safe around firearms.
By the time they can buy their own firearm safety should be 2n nature to them.

Well, first of all they havent seen it, because it has never been posted. secondly, just because someone posts asswipe doesnt make it in any way correct or believable.

If that were true you would have the link in your favorites so you could stick it up anyone ass you wanted to.
If itr sounds like bullshit,
If it smells like bullshit
It is usually something you posted.

Now remember that not all of these result in death. If I catch you in the driveway fucking with my car and shove my gun down your throat but let you go and say "If I EVER see you again you are fucking dead, and that means anywhere in this town" why should I bother calling the police ?

And don't ask because I ain't telling. Bottom line is the only time police are worth shit is getting your car back after it is stolen. Even then you need a new steering column and who knows what else. (in the real old day we did not have locking steering columns, the ignition was on the dash) That is also why we don't keep our guns in the glovebox anymore. Seriously, every fucking car my family had used to have a gun in the glovebox. And nobody ever shot anybody. Civilised people do not do that unless someone is being a thug.

Plus you just about can't steal a car anymore with those chips in the keys, GPS and remote disable. If you want to steal a car today just go get a tow truck. And if it has GPS you get busted anyway.

But then back then you needed a crowbar to get into a locked glovebox. Today you can rip the door off with one hand. Not a great place for a gun. Just keep the thing in your pocket. No CCW ? So what, they're not stopping everyone and searching them.

You have never struck me as being terribly civilized.

I have checked around a bit and so far the only car I believe you cannot steal is a tesla.

I would pay a nickle to watch you or anyone else try to rip the door off of one of my barges.

You know, now that you mention it, I have never seen a cite for the thousands of kids killed every year in firearms accidents. I guess, as with most subject, the left expects their view to be the base line and only those things that vary from that need to be cited.

There was a car accident in front of my house.
The force of the accident jammed passenger door shut.
My son pulled it loose using only his hands allowing the passenger to get out.

A man who will lose his marbles over a parking place, isn't going to learn anything from a firearm class.

When I purchased my pistol, a retired police officer who is now an instructor taught me how to operate the gun. I go to the range and practice with it, otherwise it is locked away. I considered a CPL, but I don't really care to carry a firearm around with me. I had a terrible fear of pistols, which is one of the reasons I wanted to learn how to safely and confidently handle one.

As for the guy in your post who was yelling at the pregnant lady - I'm glad you called the police - I hope he had his weapons confiscated.

There was a simular incident in Kansas this week.
A woman was putung he child in the car when someone hit her in the head. He must have used a club of some kind as she is in critial condition. And unarmed samaritan tried to help and was shot. a armed citizen interveened and shot one of the two attackers killing him, the other was captured by the police, This is the same kind of person he was talking about who is a danger to society with a set of car keys, even without a car.

That's awful. I hope the woman hit and the guy shot are ok. Those poor children, they must have been terrified!

How does the saying go? All that evil needs to triumph, is for a good person to do nothing?

Ideally, it shouldn't be necessary, but the world is far from ideal.

The only thing necessary for the triumph of evil is for good men to do nothing. Edmund Burke

Oh, I firmly believe in concealed carry. As the Sheriff in the next county put it "I like the idea that the bad guys don't know where it's coming from".

The Sheriffs in my state are saying something much different Bama with this new law.... They are saying they cannot now keep guns out of the hands of criminals or the unstable. They used to be able to deny a license to people that were trouble makers or had been in previous altercations with police even if they had no convictions. Now these same people can obtain and conceal and carry weapons without the knowledge of law enforcement....and they will not know who is carrying.

What happens when officers are called to an altercation and all five people have drawn weapon... what the hell do they do to protect the innocent and themselves. This will only present more danger to his officers and make more likely death or injury to innocents.

Butch

First off, these same arguments have been used, and used over again, every time a new state loosens laws and the sky hasn't fallen yet. I remember reading them decades ago about Florida. Second, remember that Sheriffs are elected officials and many are very liberal and spouting the party line.

When I bought a jeep Cherokee it came with a guarantee that if it was ever stolen Chrysler would give me $5,000 because they believed it was impossible to steal. I don't know whether or not that's just incentive for car thieves or not.
