Buy privately from an advert online or local newspapers.

Status: offline 		If I payed for a car at Trumps I would probably never get the car. So I would go to Hillary's and get a car from her but it probably won't be as good as she claims, so I would then go to Obama's and get a bicycle to keep in the car so when the car breaks down in the middle of nowhere I can then at least have the bike to get me back to (or near) civilization.

You know, that's something I've always wondered about. Is it just New York that has a half decent public transport with buses and an underground and stuff, or do any of the other major cities in the 'States have much in the way of internal transport systems that don't depend on the locals owning a car? I know there's some sort of elevated railway in one of the Twin Towns (not sure which of the two it is) and something of the sort in Detroit, but how about elsewhere?

Actually, there are a lot of cities in the US with great public transportation systems, a lot of small towns as well.

And to be honest, when I lived on Key West (Stock Island actually, key west was over run with tourists and those brit tourists were crazy as hell) I either used a bicycle or the bus, or the boss's boat (could zip around the island, tie up at a jetty near most of the stores, and no traffic or crazy brit tourists with rental cars.)

Now granted, on a small island, parking is at a premium, and with the exception of the shopping centers, it costs about 5 bucks an hour to park a car down town.

Dead right you were never a British colony, though. It's often forgotten that everybody besides the original thirteen states who rebelled during the American RevolutionWar of Independence weren't. Maybe it's Texas' lengthy history that makes people assume it must have been one of the founding States?

Status: offline 		Chicago has a robust public transit system. I lived in the City for 5 years without a car. I made sure to live along one of the train lines, but there are buses nearly everywhere. The suburbs are a different story though.
