sacred ? why are a bunch of dead bodies supposed to be sacred ? I thought maybe it was to stop anybody stealing something. Or maybe they expect the dead to try and get out. Or maybe somebody to try and get in without an invitation.

you have never had much to do with dead bodies have you ? Especially those over a couple of days old. Especially those in tropical areas. There is absolutely nothing remotely sacred about them. They are just an unwanted suit of clothes that is buried. Whatever was inside it is long gone, if there ever WAS anything.
