It seems normal and in reasonable in my country. But of course our government makes sure EVERYBODY has a FREE photo ID too.
I don't know why the dems are soo against photo IDs. Just work together giving ALL legit citizens one!
And there is a simple solution to reach out to poor, homeless, elderly who can't travel. Go door to door and knock and help them! Go to streets and reach out to the homeless. Employ social workers to do this! And get their photo ID done for them.
It has to be process with teething stages. What's gonna happen is, you are gonna have voter registration with alot people that have not have the proper ID. Great! That's how you reach out to these people and MAKE sure they have their proper photo ID for the next election. Let this one pass. It doesn't have to be difficult.

And here we can't do that, its unconstitutional.

If it is not important why to the Dems fight tooth and nail against cleaning the voter roles? How many states now have issues pending with dead people and illegals on the voter roles and voting? Every fraudulent vote disenfranchises a citizen voter.

Because of the way they are cleaned. Nutsuckers clean them by the method, some random John Anderson is dead........remove all John Andersons.

the jim crow laws were aimed ONLY at Blacks to not vote at all. didn't matter who we would of voted for.

.... voter ID laws are aimed at a much larger demographic segment of the population that reaches across racial lines to benefit only ONE political party....the gop.

Most, but not all, and the challenges against them were addressed prior to the final ruling, which was not the case in Texas.

in some places greta they have been found unconstitutional; in some places, some parts of laws requiring them have been found unconstitutional; in other places they have not been found so.

but don't get confused into thinking the left really gives a hoot about constitutionality. however, neither am I so cynical to believe their objections are all about their desire to protect their voter fraud practices.

so something else is going on---and in part my answer to that would be in the leftists inability to be swayed by reason and logic on this issue.

How does one go about proving you are an amerikan citizen?
How does the footprint on your birth certificate prove that you and that tiny foot print are the same person?
A passport relies on a birth certificate so it suffers from the same issue.
The new "real id" requires a birth certificate so it suffers from the same issue.
Naturalized citizens can prove citizenship because their paperwork validates who they are but their citizenship begins with naturalization and not birth.
Those with a top secret clearence can prove citizenship because they have been thoroughly veted from their birth to the time of the issueance of their clearence but that is a lengthy and expensive process.
So the question remains how does a member of the general public prove they are a citizen?

Since you have no knowledge of our constitution and our country's history, I would not expect you to. Look up the 24th Amendment.
