I suspect that the levels of alienation and disenchantment with the duopoly that has dominated US politics for so long are as high as you are asserting. There are millions and millions who feel ripped off and have every to feel that way - they have been ripped off.

But I fear that they are headed for another disappointment if they believe Trump can offer a solution, or if they only believe that Trump is listening to them and will act in their interests. Trump has only one interest - his own. No one has even accused or even suspected Donald J Trump of altruism. In fact, this is the first time I have seen the word 'altruism' used in association with Trump!

Just one example: His tax plan - basically lower taxes for the ultra wealthy and corporations - will only benefit the Trumps of this world (that is if he is as rich as he constantly claims to be). There's nothing there for the middle and lower classes worth talking about.

No billionaire (or even self styled billionaire if Trump's critics are to be believed) has ever been the friend of working people, the poor, the unemployed, or those left behind by globalisation.

Thanks Lucy. but a college education doesn't necessarily mean they are more intelligent than someone who doesn't have one.

On another thread talking about voter Id folks were saying the republicans want voter id because it will stop poor people from voting and everyone knows the majority of the poor vote democrat. Yet you claim the republicans have a lower iq than the democrats so how do you explain why so many democrats are living in poverty if they are so intelligent?

Dear O my! Chelsea Clinton was so looking forward to be the first offspring in America to have had both parents as Presidents of the USA so she too could try for the white house in due course. Trump v Putin and the next world war is on the cards within 5 years.

Well, besides the fact that intelligence doesn't automatically translate to wealth, there's also the fact that minorities tend to be poor.
