But, whatever, the language he uses - his repeated use of fuckings, etc, etc ... plus words like 'cunt', quote:
That's probably where the difference in us reading him lays. I cuss like a sailor myself... all the time. Not out of anger, it's just a normal part of my vocabulary stemming from the social circles I grew up in. So I don't even really notice him saying 'fucking' all the time, because I do that habitually myself. That, combined with the attempt to belittle? No, I don't see that. You don't use the same strategy and I've never seen you adopt anything like the same tone. I don't type that way. But I speak that way. For example his "Christ, what fucking universe do you live in?" from post 358 on this thread is something that I'm pretty sure I verbatim said to my slave just yesterday. If it wasn't exactly that, it was at least very very close. As such, I don't really register it as him sounding angry, or him cussing when he does that, because I hardly notice it at all. quote:
ORIGINAL: PeonForHer quote:
I don't read it as anger, I read it as condescension for those he considers inferior. And condescension is usually an emotion doesn't blend very well with anger. Condescension is 'cold' and detached while anger is 'hot' and drawn-in. Yep. But, to me ... unless there's something a little wrong with him, it's a put-on thing. He doesn't actually think his opponent is inferior, he just wants to give his opponent that impression. It's the pretence of anger, mixed with condescension - but behind that *real* anger, because the put-on thing isn't working. The more it feels like it's cracking him, the more he lays it on. The reason I see this is because, usually, people know when they're arguing with others who know far more than they do on a given subject. I've seen our Awareness do this too many times here. As we've both said, YMMV. So he's 'faking' being angry because secretly he's really really angry? Fair enough. It's funny how the same text can read so different to different people. On a side note, I do find it hilarious that whenever somebody gets to the point where they don't want to argue with him any further (because they lost, or they consider it pointless, or because they're too disgusted by his views to even try anymore) that they invariably attack his choice of username. Especially seeing that I'm pretty sure that Awareness takes it as a clear sign that he's won whenever they do that (regardless of whether his opponent would agree with that view or not) and so it's incredibly entertaining how often those arguments seem to end with the opponent basically saying "Yeah you've won." while walking away convinced they just won.
