It's actually refreshing to see that Mike Moore reaches beyond the facile explanations of the left. It reminds me of just how out of touch most of you are with regard to the American people. You project your own simple explanations - the easy explanations, the one which don't require you to examine your prejudices - onto Trump voters and - as I've said before - fail to demonstrate any compassion or understanding.

Moore's piece isn't supporting Trump and it's being used by the Trump campaign as propaganda, but it does demonstrate an insight into Trump's success which is remarkable for a liberal. Perhaps it's because he's working class and has personally seen the pain the working class has suffered. Consequently, he doesn't feel entitled to the insufferable, pompous contempt which most of you exhibit.

Have you seen the movie?
Im not sure why you think no one on the left sees what he is saying.
See the whole movie, and by the way he has been saying this for quite some time, not simply for his movie.
Its worth watching all the way thru

It's not really a secret that Trump is trying to appeal to the frustrated masses by promising them it will all be the same as it was in 1956 or whatever imaginary golden era Trump is trying to evoke with his nonsense.

The irony here is that in the last election, GOP voters would have been smugly declaring that the same people need to accept lower wages in order to compete with China, it's their own fault/the unions' fault for being too greedy, etc. People who didn't have jobs were just lazy whiners who didn't know what hard work involved, and preferred to take from people who had earned what they have. They didn't give a shit about any of these people and considered them losers who deserved what they were getting.

So now that Trump is heading the party, it's all about fighting back against the man and giving the working man his due. Suddenly these people are noble victims who deserve better. It's not their fault, it's China's! It's all because of immigrants! Foreigners! We shouldn't try to adapt to the global economy... we need to remove ourselves from it! Let's slap the whole world in the face and force them to do what we want! What could go wrong?? Trump has replaced contempt for the poor with contempt for the foreign (or more accurately, contempt for anyone who doesn't support/agree with/isn't Trump).

Moore has always marketed himself as a working class hero and this narrative fits his image, but it's actually really condescending. He doesn't think these people are stupid, just desperate to believe Trump because they're so frustrated-- which makes sense I guess, but it also implies that they can't see through his bullshit when I'm pretty sure most people can. Sure it feels good to believe that Trump's easy-to-follow and dramatic 'vision' for the world is realistic, but the problem is that it's SO stupid that almost everyone knows it won't work. If it were somewhat less stupid then I might agree with Moore, but it's not so I don't.

Wondering what you think about this A?
Michael Moore Warns Men: Your ‘10,000-Year Reign Is Over’ If Hillary Clinton Wins
“Guys have got about a week to wrap their heads around the fact that Hillary Clinton is going to be president of the United States.”

Men are going to have to “get over it” and accept the fact that a woman will be leading the nation if Hillary Clinton wins the election next week, filmmaker Michael Moore said on Tuesday.

“It’s the muscle memory of 10,000 years that’s in our DNA where we’ve run the show forever,” Moore told MSNBC’s Chris Hayes. “Next Tuesday possibly ― hopefully ― a woman is going to lead the most powerful country on Earth. In other words, the 10,000-year reign is over.”

Moore was responding to a clip of President Barack Obama asking men who weren’t planning to vote for Clinton to consider why they might oppose her, and if there might be some sexism behind it.

“Guys have got about a week to wrap their heads around the fact that Hillary Clinton is going to be president of the United States,” Obama said.

Moore compared the change to the end of segregation.

“I grew up in a time when the ‘N’ word was used as often as you would say the word Kleenex,” Moore said, adding:

“Those people had to change. The future came in, everything moved forward. These men are not going to be able to stay this way. They’ll get on board the train and they’ll realize that actually having women having a say in what’s going on makes the planet ― makes your life, actually ― better.”
Moore also joked that having a woman in charge might be good for men’s health.

“Let women run the show,” he said. “It’s going to be a lot less stress on us. They live three years longer than us. We’re going to get to live those extra three years now.”

The problem with the video of course, is that while it makes for good sound bites and offers feel-good sentiments, the repub house and if it remains, the repub senate senate, will never pass those tariffs.

Trump will not have as presidents don't, the power to unilaterally undue existing treaties which are the law-of-the-land. Just like when Obama was going to do this and that...'Yes We Can' was the slogan, turned out to be...'No we Can't.'

Obama.....:

.....did not close GITMO

.....did not go after the bankers.

.....restored the value of equities. (paper)

.....tripled the drone war. (actually sanctioning the drone attack that killed (murdered) an American citizen who was merely a propagandist...suspected of being a future danger.

.....renewed the Patriot act.

.....increased the surveillance society.

.....continued W's 'temporary' tax cuts. (adding to the deficit)

.....did not eliminate outrageous billion$ in federal subsidies and tax credits to profitable corporations.

The list goes on. Neither HRC or Trump will be able to do otherwise. Watch and learn kinkroids.

Oh and as for Hillary, a woman, 'running the show'...it will be merely a lack-luster Saturday Matinée...not a block buster and only so much symbolic history at most.

Strange thing to say. Considering so many women have became head of countries in many other countries already. I think with the US, it's more about, where are the female candidates! Very few step forward to run.

Having had two female prime ministers I dont see the excitement, but yes, for americans its a first.
And as many will vote for the fact that she has a vaj as will vote against her, for that same vaj.
Both delusional.

Along with a Bundeskanzlerin (Federal Chancellor) in the largest country in Europe.

It might be a first, but a woman in place of high authority is certainly not a new concept for Americans. Women mayors of big cities, state governors, high profile Senators, CEOs, etc., have been around for decades already.

I'm thinking Moore was just having fun with it. I certainly hope he's not so out of touch that he seriously thinks gender is an actual issue for any more than a few pud heads. In any case, it would be far less an issue than 'that other consideration' in the prior two elections.

Put it this way; if Hillary wins, I'm not envisioning a bunch guys instantly starting a "Take Our Country Back!" movement, a la 2008-9.

Likewise. The policies matter to me; the gender doesn't. But the idea of the first female POTUS has undeniable symbolic power.

Oh, maybe because nobody on the left is saying, "You know, I understand the frustration that drives people to support Trump." Instead, you're all saying, "TRUMP VOTERS ARE SEXIST AND RACIST AND HATE VAGINAS!!!!"

That's why Lucy. Because you on the left demonstrate no fucking insight whatsoever. You leap to easy explanations which feed your ego instead of asking the hard fucking questions that might require you to give up your delusional sense of superiority.

The fact that women have been appointed to power doesn't - in any way - support the idea that they can do the job well.

Fail.

Neither does the fact that men have been appointed to power support the idea that they can do the job well.

Oh, I think the mere fact that we've built complex civilisations which allow people to thrive is clear evidence that men do the job well. The only question is whether women really have the capability to do the job as well as us. Frankly, I have my doubts.

Well, yes. Thatcher was disastrous for Britain, Merkel has clearly been disastrous for Germany. I'm trying to think of one who's actually been good for her nation, but I'm drawing a blank.
