Pet peeves that came from working retail:
-People who ask me for directions in the mall (when I worked there) and then took off in the opposite direction I told them. People who asked me for directions and when I told them I didn't know but Customer Service was *right* there (literally, like 20 feet away), they'd go ask someone else or wander around aimlessly.
-Customers who ask the price of something when it's most obviously marked.
-Customers who ask a question about a product and then refuse to believe you.
-Customers who refuse to believe that we do not have something in stock, even though we've looked where it is supposed to be, in understock and the back room.
-Rude customers, even when you're being nice to them.

Pet peeves that came from working in a restaurant:
-Guests who are nice to a server but tip them nothing.
-Guests who insist on a specific booth.
-Guests who don't show up when their pager goes off, and then get pissy when we gave away their table.

The list goes on...

Other pet peeves:

People who ask for advice and then don't take it.

People who know me and know that I don't say something unless I'm sure it's true, but still refuse to believe me.

Trolls.

I'm just going to stop. This list will get too long.

People who complain about things they could easily change and refuse to change them

People who use racist or derogatory language

People who can't tell a lie to save their life but insist on lying anyway (it's always about something stupid) Don't they understand how insulting this is to my intelligence?

People who can't handle hearing the truth

People who are hypocrites/contradict themselves.

People who can't drive (going slower then highway speed in the left lane, swerving, no turn signal, etc.) and then act all pissed off when you say something, honk them, or pass them.

People who stand in the middle of the street when the light is green and then act surprised that there are cars out there.

People who have no self control.

People who can control their children but refuse to do so.

People who can't make up their mind about what they want.

People who clearly lack intelligence or learning, but think they are smarter then everyone else anyway.

People who flip out for no known reason.

People who write with such bad grammar or lack of punctuation that you simply can’t understand them at all.

People who say “irregardless”-though for some reason MW recognizes it, it is not a correct word. The word is regardless people- as in without regard. You’ll never convince me otherwise.

And the list goes on……

Here's another one I remembered...

People who complain bitterly about the state of affairs in this country, then don't even vote!

I had two co-workers, one a liberal Democrat, and one an ultra-conservative Replican, who would argue vehemently by the hour. Well, the 2004 elections came around.  The Republican lives very close to Me and we vote at the same polling place.  The next day, I asked him if, when he went to vote, he was approached by some people wanting him to sign a certain petition about a local issue.  He sheepishly admitted that no, they had not, because he had not even gone to vote.  I then asked the Democrat if it felt good to cast a vote against her most-despised GWB, even if he still won, and she admitted that she hadn't voted, either!

From that point on, I told them both to shut up, LOL.

People who have their entire profile as their first (and normally only) journal entry.  If I want to read it, then I'll read it - putting it up twice does not help your chances of getting it read.

people who think that, for some magic reason, nobody can see them picking thier nose while they're at a stop light or stop sign...

or perhaps that there are so many people out there who don't care that people see them picking their noses....

one of those two...

*puzzled* I'm in agreement with Benji... is this acceptable board practice?

when you say fiddlesticks instead of fuck you have effectively turned fiddlesticks into a curse word...

I managed to, within the space of one 8.5 hour shift at work, turn the word 'deficate' into a curse word... mind you, no one used it in context... *sighs*

I am brimming with pet peeves today.  Hell, I could open a pet store...  However, I will only list a few.

Why go to the trouble of being fitted correctly for a bra, only to have the salesbimbo special order the wrong size?  (I finally got the right ones, after receiving the wrong ones, having to go to the mall, return them, and re-order the correct size...  two weeks later...)

Why do the people not do their work correctly at the Bureau of Vital Statistics?  My father needed a new copy of his birth certificate, so we paid the expedited (ungodly) fee to get it quickly, and his name is spelled wrong.  Now we have to send it back with a letter of explanation and wait for a new one...

Why have mailing one's paycheck be an option to picking it up from the payroll gal (since she was out of town today), when it turns out that they were mailed late or not at all and no one else in the office knows where they could be, so now...  I get to wait till she gets back next week to get paid?

Why withhold information about people's jobs until the last minute, and then tell them that the company has been bought out and staff need to find other employment by the end of the month?

Why does stress have to come in buckets when you are supposed to be getting ready for a nice weekend with your Master?

A local "submissive" male whom I have never met, or even talked to on the phone, suggesting that W/we get together tomorrow afternoon for "some fun."  Where does he get off?  Like I am going to agree to scene (more than likely he's just looking to get laid) with a person I don't know from Adam?  Sheesh, time for that block function again!
