They defined him as racist for making comments about how to solve problems. He said we shouldn't allow people to come here from places with high incidents of terrorism until we have the ability to vet people. Hillary called that racist against Muslims. It wasn't. I've listened to groups of women and men say much worse things than he did regarding the opposite sex. That wasn't considered sexism until Hillary made it opposition research. Solving an illigal alien problem doesn't make you a racist. Not solving the problem is the real problem.

I think many people who've been at the brunt of that are now saying, no let's continue the discussion. In the past the charges have been effective at stopping discussions and giving power to the people making the charges. As those people lose power because their tactics are no longer effective, you see it decried, maybe maybe not, as a massive example chest beating about it that does not necessarily make it the phenomenon as stated.

So while Trump spoke honestly off the cuff, Hillary's team took those words and twisted them into identity politics. I rather have a politician always speak off the cuff and hear his private unscripted views any day rather then listen to banal scripts. Unfortunately, there are a great many who take Hillary's twisted interpritations rather than listen to what he actually said. You don't like what he said, fine don't vot for him and go to your safe zones when he wins. But ont pretend that the identity politics is actually real. (Or you can but then you're not worth listening to.)

I don't think we're on the same wavelength on this one. In this particular case, not your fault because I'm looking at it from a different perspective. Even though a white (ummm) slur was made against you, the same thing probably would have happened if you were black, if they had thought you were American. We (not you... the USA type folks) did kind contribute to some not nice things there, so even though the base helps to increase the economy, we're also looked at in a bad way by the general population. The same holds true in other places around the globe where the situation is the same. Yep, we fuel the economy because (single) servicemen/women spend their pay (there's more to it than that, but work with me) and at the same time end up contributing to a lot of criminal activity. Have you ever seen a military base "move in" where the rates of prostitution didn't go up, the military didn't treat the average population like crap, and generally help to make a mess of things because all of those folks on their tour don't give a shit about how they leave the place. It probably wasn't you or the color of your skin. It was probably us.

Unfortunately, all Trump's history and his policy pronouncements all are for 'solutions' that enrich HIM or people just like him. And nobody else. ZERO verifiable charitable donations that make a difference anywhere. Which is pretty much unprecedented at his income level. One of many reasons his 'peers' distain him. His promises of jobs for the Rust Belt are completely hollow, and disingenuous, or totally ignorant. The essential problem is the change to a post-industrial society. The recent movement to robot labor replacing uneducated or semi-skilled work everywhere is the nail in the coffin of the working class that depends on the drip down of capitalistic industrialism for jobs and sustenance. Labor in a First World country simply can't compete with labor costs in emerging countries such as E. Africa. Where people will work 60 hours a week for bare sustenance wages. Which wouldn't pay gas costs for US workers to get to work and back. Even the Swiss are seriously considering an 'entitlement' for every citizen of enough money for basic housing and food security. Anathema to the US Right (Who think everyone should Earn their money, besides their children, and anyone rich enough to play the markets.), but necessary to avoid the teeming masses of starving homeless 'criminal' lower classes seen in all the Old World cities before water power and then electricity made mass production efficient enough for decent jobs for most.
