Just what kind of movement(s) they will be I can't say... but events like this are always an opportunity for militant political organizations, and because you've elected an authoritarian bigot, these people (and others) are finally disillusioned enough to want to join them. Even relatively mainstream media are calling for resistance.

You can either keep using this as an excuse to insult lefties, or you can start to accept the fact that Trump is never going to be accepted, is never going to unite the country, and resistance is the new norm.

After running THAT campaign and making THOSE promises, you think that people are just going to say 'well, I guess we lost this one... better luck next time!'. To be honest, this reaction is a lot tamer than I expected.

This isn't the same thing as your team losing the World Series-- people are justifiably terrified of what this man will do with his power... as in, they feel personally threatened. You will probably refuse to accept that it could be anything other than sour grapes, but you shouldn't. This is going to get worse.

Ummm they're not exactly 'my side' (I only supported Hillary out of fear), but this is a question that a lot of people are asking today.

The reasons I've heard are:

-black/minority voters saw Obama as 'one of them', not so with Hillary.
-people were worn down by the shitstorm of the campaign and just didn't want to be part of it anymore
-Hillary's platform was a watered-down version of Obama's platform, without his charisma or humor
-Comey
-complacency due to the fact that they don't feel completely horrible about things so don't have motivation enough to want to participate (wait 4 years).

I think the campaign really wore a lot of people down with personal attack after scandal after criminal investigation... but now that the reality is setting in, there are no new scandals to distract them and they realize what has happened, they're starting to remember that the worst thing about Trump was his platform, not his sexual assaults... and that this is very very bad.

As soon as the wall starts being built and what Trump promised to do becomes real instead of the antics of a hilarious cartoon character... more people will wake up and realize that they've all made a terrible mistake.
