Have a look at it in context.

Peacenik, hippie Jesus was so incensed at how corrupt the Pharisees et al had made the 'law' that he actually nutted right the fuck off and drove the money lenders out of the temple hollering shit like "You have made it a DEN OF THIEVES".

Does it sound likely that he then wanted to 'develop the full potential ' of 'the law' or that he recognised that it was beyond fixing?

Do you honestly believe that Christ wanted to maintain a 'law' that sentenced disobedient children & rape victims to death? That forbade the eating of bacon FFS? There's reason enough to exterminate all trace that the 'jews' ever existed right there. That sentenced homosexuals to die? That forbade cripples, the blind, the infirm from entering the temple because they were not pleasing to the sight of the Lord? That sanctioned the holocaust of The Midianite people? Except for 30,000 pretty young virgins kept for the soldiers to rape?

Or is it more likely that he wanted to end it and establish something rather more compassionate and human?

I'll go with the Christ who responded to the question of 'normal' (1 man & 1 woman) marriage by saying that it's a very good thing and most people should do it, but if you're one of those for whom that doesn't work don't sweat it, just do what fits.

I might have paraphrased just a tad but, yeah, he did.

He is referring to celibacy. I understand the desire for the reach but eunichs are celibate... not gay.

It's covered in the very short article in the link I provided for you but here's an even shorter extract from the article:-

"In the ancient world, including ancient Jewish culture (as reflected in the Talmud), “natural” or “born” eunuchs were not associated with missing testicles. Rather, they were associated with stereotypically effeminate characteristics and behavior (just like modern gay men), and were thought by Rabbi Eliezer to be subject to “cure” (just like modern gays). Moreover, as we have also seen, eunuchs were commonly associated with homosexual desire. (For a complete discussion of the term "born eunuch" and the connection with homosexuality, see The Early Church Welcomed a Gay Man.) As a reasonably informed person of his time, Jesus would have been aware of this common view of eunuchs. Yet he very matter-of-factly asserts that some people are simply born that way. The implication of his statement is profound — God created gay people the way they are! Jesus says so."

We need to be careful not put our modern definitions on words that had a quite different meaning back in the day. That way fundamentalism lies.

I always wondered if Jesus himself was gay... they refer to John, i believe, as 'The disciple who Jesus loved'

I think Jesus was asexual.
But for him to get close to females might give females the wrong impression. I didn't get the impression he ever cared for a relationship, family, children, all that stuffs.
And men bromancing are often, almost like girlfriends girlmancing anyway.
You should see my best friend with his male buddies. Worst than females!

He can talk for 8 hours on the phone with his male buddy! And that is not just one specific male buddy. And ya can feel the mutual love and admirations in their conversations!

It's absolutely hilarious, watching the left, so desperately grasping for straws that they turn to religion which they spend all the rest of their time ridiculing.

I am wondering, though: this new "pope" has been so politically out-spoken and positive towards issues on the left ... I wonder if the she-cunt's people succeeded in their quest for a "Catholic Spring"?

While I realize that people question the source (I don't), in what's called the "Gnostic Gospels" found in Naj Hamedi in the '40s or '50s, there's a "Gospel of Peter" where Peter claims that "Jesus loved Mary (Magdalene) best of all and even kissed her on the lips".

The Catholic Church refers to this as the Magdalene Heresy. It goes on to claim that Jesus and Mary Magdalene had at least one child.

He was what he was. I don't even give a damn if he was the son of God.

If you read the words in red in a bible (those attributed to Jesus of Nazareth), it is difficult to not believe that if this person existed and if those are his words, he's (quite possibly) the most spiritual person that's ever lived.

I don't care if he screwed knot holes in trees. His words are a great guidepost to life.

Would that be arborphelia?

But now that the Son of God has been mentioned, it's worth noting that even with all the miracles he performed, "uniting the country" wasn't one of them. Nope. In fact, Jesus pissed off a lot of people. So much so that he was crucified.

I thought he pissed off alot of people, by claiming to be you know, son of god and stuffs, and then doing magic tricks like healing the sick and expanding food out of thin air?

I wonder how the world will react to a modern figure like this, being able to perform explainable miracles. Would his life also be in danger?

That depends if it was the tree that got one off or the knot hole. No?

Also, your last sentence is spot-on. It's amazing (to me) How people who espouse a spiritual lifestyle have been persecuted for ... well, probably forever. In this particular case, though, I blame Paul (who never met Jesus) for his poor showing at Public relations.

Lets face it the only gesture on Trumps part that the left would be a murder suicide of himself and Pence, leaving a note that Hillary should be made president for life.

I think he is starting to show that he is going to do things that make sense. Whether you like the idea or not, we really do need to secure the southern border so we don't just have illegal people coming here without going through an immigration process. That just makes common sense. And he is talking about deporting the illegal immigrants with a criminal history. Again... common sense. Building up our military is a necessary evil because the bottom line is... you are only as strong and powerful as your military is.

And the left will decry the first two as racist, and the last as being a warmonger.

so, with the largest illegal immigration in the US coming from everywhere but the southern border, we have to do that now.
