I don't mean spiritual supremacy. I mean supremacy now... here on earth. They believe Muslims are supreme over non Muslims here on earth now. Christianity has nothing like this:

You need to understand that 'People of the Book' are only those who consider Jesus to be a prophet... not the Son of God.

No, well at least not to my understanding. have you got some sort of source that confirms that?

then you are guilty of shirk... an unforgivable sin, and you are going to hell.

Yeah, so what. If you aren't a member of whatever Christian cult you choose then you are going to Hell as well. What's your point? That Islam is just as intolerant of other religions as other religions?

Here:

There are many statements in the Qur'an that mention former communities who have been given revelation from God. Some examples are below:

If only the People of the Book had faith, it were best for them: among them are some who have faith (momim), but most of them are perverted transgressors.[12]

Quran is describing very clearly that Momins and fasiqs are among Ahlalkitab (family of book) and not Jews and Christian.

Yes i know that. But my point is i think casual observers think that Muslims believe that Jews and Christians are ok. My point is that they don't.

so this is about proving muslims hate jews and catholics then

Islam is trying to convert people away from Christianity to Islam. That is my point. They are not only here to practice their faith but to spread it... is my point.

I urge all Christians to convert more Muslims to Christianity, but, it's a dangerous job and beware of your life.
I personally never felt annoyed with Christians always constantly trying to convert people. Over here, they even go door to door to invite you to their church and give you chocolates lol.

If they can focus on converting more Muslims, that be great. Let's just work on getting the more evil religion out of the way first!

No it's showing you that they don't accept them as 'Ok and going to heaven' with them. They believe Jews and Christians need to be converted to Islam... which is not just a religion but has a system of laws and politics for here on earth which subjugates everyone who doesn't follow Islam... including Jews, Christians, and everyone else.

My point is that what is actually happening is the other way around.

I wouldn't be worried about Christians turning Muslims.

1) The 5 times a day, go on your knees prayer shit is annoying. I think it's much more convenient praying christian way, any time you want when you are free.

2) No Bacon????

3) Starve yourself to death for 1 month every year (In Muslim countries, if you attempt to buy food or caught eating during that month, it's a criminal offense!)

I don't think so.

Here is a very reputable site explaining to Catholics why they are idolater . (So you are going to hell... btw).

http://www.islamreligion.com/articles/10473/viewall/idolatry/

And according to Catholic doctrine, all non-Catholic Christians are going to Hell, so what's your point? That Islam and catholicism are equally intolerant of different religions?

Islam is trying to convert people away from Christianity to Islam. That is my point. They are not only here to practice their faith but to spread it... is my point.

And Christians are actively trying to convert people away from Islam to Christianity, Perhaps you have heard of missionaries? So once again, what is your point here? That Islam and Christianity have a lot in common?

It doesn't make any sense to me at all.

That hardly surprises me, as you quite clearly know next to nothing about Islam or Christianity. Your confusion is rooted in your ignorance and would be greatly alleviated if you took a few years to study the doctrines of the various religions you wish to talk about.

It really is a fascinating subject, and well worth the time and effort.

I know an awful lot about Christianity... i practiced it and studied it quite extensively. I am just learning about Islam now.

No you do not, it is quite glaringly obvious from your comment that you do not know very much about it at all. You are criticizing Islam for exactly the same doctrines as Christianity holds.

Actually no, Christianity does indeed have something like this. Once again, since the topic clearly interests you, you really ought to take the time to study the topic. Study all sorts of different religions and their various sects and cults, lern their similarities and their differences. It really is a fascinating topic and it also helps one understand the world much better knowing the underlying mythologies and philosophical assumptions that drive the various world cultures.

I'm not trying to be snarky here, I'm being serious. I think the whole world would benefit from doing so, so much of the modern world's strife and problems stems from simple ignorance. Not only ignorance of other cultures, but also ignorance of one's own culture.

Fair enough, you should all become pantheistic animists like me. It is the only truly good and peaceful religion.

And Jews and Christians don't think Muslims are, so again, what really is your point? You keep pointing out ways Islam is the same as the other Abrahamic religions as if this was somehow a bad thing.

You are not grasping my point. Islam is not just a religion... it is a system of laws and regulations for society. And it does not accept Christianity and Judaism as equal partners like i think alot of people think they do. They convert people to their religion and then seize political power. For them, there is no 'separation of church and state'.

No, completely wrong and also demonstrably scientifically stupid. In fact you can eat all you want during Ramadan, just not during the day, and even that can be waived in certain circumstances.

Like I said, your issue is more that you do not actually know the topic, you are starting to learn about Islam (for which I heartily commend you, but would very strongly advise you not to do so by perusing obviously anti-Islamic sites), and you are finding things you find alarming, yet if you would broaden your studies to include the related religions you would find that these things are not at all unique to Islam.

I think you are mistaking Christianity for western secular society. The whole separation of church and sate thing was forced down the throats of the churches and they fought long and hard to prevent it, and most of them work constantly to reverse it. Islam is indeed antithetical to modern western secular society, but so is Christianity, and for much the same reasons. islam is not the enemy of western secular society, religion is.

Ok .... i guess i'll chill out then.

I agree with you about religion.... it took almost everything i had to overcome it myself.

I never heard the term pantheistic animalist before but having just looked it up it is much closer to my own belief system now. I'm just not so sure about rocks yet. : )

ThatDizzyChick -> RE: Islam (11/29/2016 11:04:29 PM)

Yeah, I hear ya, it is difficult to get free of it's clutches (apostate Catholic here). And yeah, the rocks sorta give me pause as well. maybe I should call myself an non-lithic pantheistic animist. [:)]

bounty44 -> RE: Islam (11/30/2016 5:01:35 AM)

a quick note to a few of you who think otherwise (to reiterate tamaka): there is no Christian equivalent to Islam's goal of wedding state and religion.

on the whole, Christians are not interested in a theocracy, nor are they admonished to, and having laws or individual people in government whose actions reflect Christian morality is not the same thing as setting up one.

I have seen people fainting here from fasting during ramadan. Goign without eating and drinking from 7am to 7pm is still a challenge. Plus having to go about your normal daily job and focus.
What if someone was working in construction and need physical strength ya know? And I can't even imagine trying to mentally concentrate with immense hunger all day.
