I agree with you totall Vincent......................one small word that has changed it's meaning so many times, would be the word 'Gay' . Language evolves and devolves and just because a word had one meaning a couple of thousand years ago, really doesn't mean it will be the same today. Try the derivations for the word 'Television' .....................it's a false, bastardised word ( like a lot of the english language)and yet is used every day.

Which is a whole can of worms that that makes the people who'd never have dreamed of using the word "gay" in any of its other senses complaining about losing the use of that sense of it look perfectly reasonable by comparison. It's not like there aren't words in English whose original usage is now obsolete but have found other meanings since, after all...
