There's a dungeon near me and I heartily dislike the people who hang there.
However if we drive south half an hour, it's an entirely different group of people, all of whom are fun to be with.

For what it's worth, I found just that much difference between local ACOA groups. Some are filled with good people and some not so much.

Really? I think this might have more to do with the sub in question than overall availability. At events were I volunteer, there is all kinds of pick-up play going on. Unless someone has poor social skills, poor hygiene, or has been excluded for previous poor behavior; finding someone with whom to play isn't a huge ordeal.

Depends highly on location though too. If you live in or near a big city, you probably wouldnt have much trouble finding someone. But in smaller locations or more conservative areas, there may not be much of a BDSM community at all.
