Why does everyone on here seem to be so bigoted? Who all out there supports true values? Let's hear it for racial, religious, and gender equality!

You do realize that by saying "everyone" you've just made a bigoted statement?

quote:

big·ot
ˈbiɡət/
noun
a person who is intolerant toward those holding different opinions.

Stick around. You'll lose your idealism and positivity like the rest of us.

That's kind of a third grade argument. Obviously you took what was meant to be a hyperbole a little to literally. But I'm confused, are you arguing in favor of bigotry or are you just being sarcastic?

No, it's a third grade argument to throw a temper tantrum when someone points out your hypocrisy when you made a sweeping generalization.

I was just playfully pointing out that you were the black pot calling everyone else black kettles.

Now, run along and stomp your feet.

The bigots in this forum : The ones who want double standards all the time.

When men stand up for their gender - sexism

When women stand up for their gender - feminism

When whites stand up for their race - racism

When minority races stand up for their race - social justice

Anyone with this mindset is a raving bigot.

It goes on and on and on with the SJWs too. That's just the tip of the iceberg

Well that's a fine welcome folks. :-)

Actually I thought from the title it meant something else. I was going to answer that the reason for all the negative politics is because of the politicians. Of the 60 million who voted for Trump, at least half of them were in the ABC crowd. Then there were the loyal republicans who were obviously on board with that. Then there were the rural people, some of them bigoted, but not all, who liked the talk of getting jobs back, as well as a few other things.

The 60 million who voted for Clinton want more welfare and urban renewal and all kinds of social programs. Also a bunch of them have heath problems no doubt and fear the dismantling of the ACA, which means nothing unless they got a good job but then math escapes them.

I have worked for liberals, in fact I think I do now. Pays cash of course, I prefer it anyway, but when it comes time to tally up my hours they have to use a calculator. Damn, it ain't that hard. I am pretty sure they are liberals because it is a gun free zone. In this state a business can forbid weapons under penalty of law. It used to be all bars were gun free zones whether they liked it or not but Castle Law Doctrine took care of that.

There is negativity here because there are irreconcilable differences. This country is divided badly. Fragmented in fact. We all see it headed in the wrong direction but cannot agree on a course of action, even had we the power to implement it.

I don't consider myself a modern conservative. One thing, abortion is murder, but it is necessary, animals eat their young if they cannot feed them or they don't smell right. It is preposterous to say that Women have less rights than animals. I do not have any religion in me though, not no mo. I have almost a prejudice against religious people. That means I am not anywhere near a traditional conservative. In fact I believe the republican party should make drastic changes, and Barry Goldwater said it pretty well. something to the effect that you can't let these religious people control the government because they think they are speaking for god and will not compromise, and government is all about compromise.

And I am not a liberal either. I know that there are some aspects of this society that have to be at least semi-socialised. First of all you can't have people starving in the streets. Though they do. I had to let a guy use my address to get food stamps, if you are actually homeless and because you don't have a valid address you cannot get any aid, the system is broken. In Utah, a quite "conservative" state (probably moreso than the republican party) they decided to stop putting the homeless in jail and just give them apartments. You don't have to guard them, they don't want to leave. In the meantime they got an address and a phone number, get job counseling and so forth. And it costs less. Empty apartment buildings exist. It costs what, like $30,000 a year to house a prisoner, and then you have to let someone out who REALLY did something wrong. That's what math can do, save money and do some good.

Unfortunately so few even think that way.

T^T

Your post hit the nail on the head, but not for it's content, but for it's tone. Your post was the perfect example of the divisions we are experiencing, "They/the other side are the ones at fault. I/My side never contributes to the problem". If you can't look at yourself/your side and see that they are just as responsible as the opposing side for the divisiveness, we'll then, you're just never going to get it. Doesn't matter which side you're on, it applies to everyone. Add some rhetoric, name-calling and unsubstantiated statements as fact to the already exaggerated sense of self-righteousness, and you've covered the entire political discourse in this country.

I'm not upset and neither should you be. I'm just saying that I meant it figuratively. For example if I said "everyone in California is so nice"most people would assume that I hadn't met every single person in California and assessed their level of kindness but that instead I'm making a broader statement based on my experiences with Californians. I guess you could call it a generalization but I don't think it's too far fetched to say based on SOME of the types of people that have commented on this so far. But I'm still confused why you try to fight down my post which was just supposed to bring some positivity to people.

The dominant groups in society don't need "stood up for". Most western political systems if not all are controlled by whites and by males. Those in charge can't be oppressed. It's like being a Korean and saying no one is standing up for Asians in my country.

Not sure I am gonna support any religious equality.

Some religion are better than others.

Islam is a religion that oppresses and subjugate women. That religion does not deserve equality.

There is no equality for women in Islam, period! To me, anybody who supports Islam does not support gender equality.

And seriously:
Race: Not a Choice
Gender: Not a Choice
Religion: 200% CHOICE, that's what is call freedom of religion! So if people make bad religious choices, they aren't getting a pass, since they CHOSE it.

Correction: Islamic governments oppress women. Islam as a religion is no more oppressive of women than Christianity. The difference is that because of political reasons many parts of the Middle East and Africa tend to be breeding grounds for religious extremism. Of course extremism leads to inequality. If you look at any group of Christian extremists, a cult for example, women are just as oppressed.

Tell that to the person who grew up in the church.

You already proved my point with your original post, but thanks for reaffirming it's accuracy. Sadly your claim of it's only the fault of "people on the left" only shows you're one of those who just don't get it and never will.
