FR~ For those christians, the inventor of fake news was the serpent. For it was he who convinced Eve that to eat the forbidden fruit was Ok. For those of other faiths, both old and new, I'd say that their god/deity/prophet is the one who convinced the weak-minded sheeple that they would be better off following them and their doctrine than leading an otherwise productive life. For the rest of us, it would be the very first creature that used any form of subterfuge to gain an advantage over their enemy.
