BoscoX -> RE: Chelsea Manning's sentence commuted (1/17/2017 1:47:35 PM)

Shoots the hell out of Obama's and the Dems' street creds, to go on whining about Wikileaks etc

KenDckey -> RE: Chelsea Manning's sentence commuted (1/17/2017 3:57:12 PM)

Not surprised. Disappointed but not surprised.

bounty44 -> RE: Chelsea Manning's sentence commuted (1/17/2017 4:18:25 PM)

I heard greg gutfeld today say that manning is a heroic, romantic figure in Obama's ideology---anti-war, lgbt, sex change---and that commuting his/her sentence has to do with being "cool."

None of her traitorous activities hurt the Dems, only the US - "the biggest breach of classified materials in U.S. history" according to the link in the OP

mnottertail -> RE: Chelsea Manning's sentence commuted (1/17/2017 5:58:15 PM)

Well, it is yahoo, Snowdon absolutely has done more damage and breach of actual classified materials by a wide wide margin.

I am opposed to this, but not for the reason some might think.

Poor Pvt. Manning ... some time back, there was an upswell of concern over the Pvt. being able to undergo gender re-assignment surgery at the cost of the U.S. Taxpayer.

There was moaning and gnashing of teeth about how dangerous this was for Manning.

I say: we keep Manning in prison so that we can try to justify that surgery. Or, maybe Manning put on a dress for sympathy and isn't really confused about his gender?

Name change would have been Chelsea Klinger.

FR. The woman was part of the intelligence community. Whoever knows what is truth and what is untruth in those obscure circles? They probably have no idea themselves either, continuously sculpting and resculpting reality as they see fit and opportune.

Good for him - Obama - not her/him

http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/world-us-canada-38659068
Mr Obama granted commutation of sentences to 209 individuals and pardons to 64 others, in one of his final acts as president...I am led to believe he has granted more than all other presidents combined is this correct?

The US Army charged Manning with 22 counts relating to the unauthorised possession and distribution of more than 700,000 secret diplomatic and military documents and video.
Included in those files was video footage of an Apache helicopter killing 12 civilians in Baghdad in 2007.

information is power its why Russia has all those bed wetting documentaries - guffaws. I have actually only watched the one I am a squealing piggie - Hero...... film Snowden the thing with these films is they usually do rather poorly because the american jackals are in denial...it is worth a watch I spose

Apparently he has a lot of friends and associates with a lot of criminals and traitors etc, or at least that's where his sympathies seem to lie

kdsub -> RE: Chelsea Manning's sentence commuted (1/18/2017 8:34:23 AM)

I believe it was a poor choice by Obama but not a general condemnation of the Democratic party.

Can't be, nothing could possibly ever be.

kdsub -> RE: Chelsea Manning's sentence commuted (1/18/2017 9:12:05 AM)

Myself I think the pardon should only be used to forgive groups that would help save the union. But I challenge you to go back and find the history of President Bush and his pardons... then tell me if all Republicans should be condemned because of his choices.

Butch

Clinton did the same thing to help Hillary in her first election.

He didn't pardon terrorists like both Obama and Clinton did.
That is not to say that all of Bush's pardons were perfect, but they didn't include revolutionaries.

Yes drug dealers are soooo much better

I just checked on Bushes pardons.
He pardoned some pot dealers, but none in the last days of his term.
And no traitors or murderers. And the worst crime he pardoned at the end was a dead man.
So both Clinton and Obama have him beat big time.

You seem to have forgotten that I said that some of his pardons were questionable.

DaddySatyr -> RE: Chelsea Manning's sentence commuted (1/18/2017 9:31:35 PM)

The real ruse, here is that Obama claims that many of these drug offenders whom he pardoned were "non-violent" offenders.

Well, if some chalk on a sidewalk is an act of "violence", what, exactly is carrying a gun at the time of arrest? I read a piece that said a good number of his "non-violent offenders" had guns in their possession, when the arrests were made.
