The false narrative that they are trying to convey is that President Trump is illegitimate. "See, no one showed up for his inauguration." This is how the truth dies. The world's press isn't anti-Trump. The BBC isn't anti-Trump. They are however finding it really difficult to report on a White House which is so blatantly lying. The fact that the BBC reported that the crowds were smaller for Trump's inauguration wasn't an "alt-left" plot to de-legitimatise the Trump presidency. FFS they have no skin in the game of a US election and have faithfully reported exactly how Trump won the presidency and the significant social movement that swept him to power. They also reported the Trump White House rebuttal of the crowd sizes. The crowds were smaller. It's not a plot. Obama was the first black president so it's not surprising he had bigger crowds. That takes nothing away from Trump. He can't be the biggest and best at everything in history ever. What is he going to do? Stop legitimate respected news organisations from having access by squeezing them out of press briefings if he doesn't like what they report? Looks like it. Feels more like how a third world dictatorship would handle the international press.
