Yes it does mean you're sick, because you imagine yourself gifted with prophetic vision.

In this context, "someone like you" covers anybody who declines to accept your claim to prophetic vision or share your murderous fantasies. But what "a site like this" has to do with that, I don't know. Why don't you tell us? I'm sure we'd all be interested.

Yeah, obviously the chances of all of this chaos leading to a major disaster are so slim that nobody could possibly make such a call!

Oh hey-- maybe you can hire an unsupervised toddler with a boxcutter to perform some plastic surgery-- my prophetic vision says it won't end well, but of course I'm just a crazy hallucinating person so don't listen to me.

How can anyone with eyes, ears and/or a brain process what has been happening and think that it WON'T result in disaster??? 10 DAYS LATER and he has already seriously undermined relations with multiple countries, and others are immediately guarded/cautious, and world leaders all around the globe are condemning him.
Americans across the country are protesting, there are also protests in Canada, millions telling the UK PM to refuse to meet with Trump... HOW can you be this oblivious? Are you only watching FOX? Breitbart? Or do you just have your head up your ass?

On top of the Russia shit, on top of the Muslim ban, the slap in the face to Mexico, the offensive shit at the CIA, the pathetically petty and out-of-touch tweets and threats of retaliation from multiple nations... TRUMP HAS CUT EVERYONE BUT HIS INNER CIRCLE OUT OF THE DECISION-MAKING PROCESS. He has zero experience, zero sense of what is happening, AND isn't even listening to the advice of people who know what they're doing! Steve Bannon, leader of the alt-right, whose only political experience is writing up ridiculously biased, sexist, racist shit on a piece of shit website for conspiracists and skinheads-lite... is now on the national security council, and Trump pretends that it's all normal! He is isolating himself more and more, signing executive action after executive action based on what he watched on TV and reads on the Internet!

If you think this is all going to be okay, if you think I'm some sort of lone wolf and everyone else thinks it's all just business as usual and it's all going to be okay... then you're either deeply ignorant or a fucking moron. People all around the world are terrified/outraged/in shock. I know that I've never seen anything like it.

So tell me, how could you possibly be at the point where you think that this shit is going to be okay? Or that it can continue without something going terribly, terribly wrong?

I don't even know why I'm typing all of this out... you don't actually know anything, you're ridiculously uninformed... all you're going to do is give me a sentence or two about how I'm crazy and then stick your head back up your ass.

Your view is clouded by your extreme hatred and ignorance. You want someone to kill Trump, but everyone else is an extremist. You think Mexico can overrun the US because of their sleeper agents, but there is no need to do anything to control immigration and everyone who disagrees with you is unrealistic. You want the US brought down, and you insist that if anyone doesn't they are driven by blind hatred.

There is nothing that cannot be compromised with an open fair mind.... this would be a good thread... I certainly see room for compromise between anti and pro abortion... same with open borders and every other issue you mentioned.

For instance people with open minds and good intentions and an anti abortion bent...could help form laws that remove many reasons for abortion to begin with...such as support and education for pregnant women...freely available birth control medicines and devices...sex education... there are many things we could agree on that would vastly reduce abortion instead of the all or nothing stance that does nothing.

Rather than spending millions on a useless wall... lets stop illegals overnight by stopping the reasons for coming... Get rid of the birthright citizenship... imprison employers who knowingly hire illegals... with no jobs there would be know reason to come...

Don't like these compromises... just open your mind and think of your own... believe me they are there. There are those that say they can't do something and those that say they can... both are right which are you.

Every "compromise" involves conservatives giving up more and more and more ground to increasingly radicalized leftists whose demands have grown insane

Every single one

By compromise, you mean conservatives must surrender. What we don't compromise away today, will be demanded that we compromise away tomorrow

They scream that we are Nazis, because we want common sense immigration control. So we compromise, we plead no contest at our war crimes trial

Right

Rather than "not guilty" which is the preferred leftist plea on our part

Now they want it to be illegal, for a conservative to be president

Have you missed the calls to violence? Where are we supposed to compromise on that. And why are we supposed to compromise on that.

The left had their president for eight years, where are they compromising now

They surround our rallies and demand we give up our right to assemble, our right to free speech. Bust heads, assault us. My compromise, is to hold my temper and beat them in the polls

Which we did

Fair compromise

They have their riots, we have real power

Back in school... damn i wish i had paid more attention...a speech class instructor was setting up a debate. The debate was ...should Red China be admitted to the UN. At that time in history almost no one was for allowing their admission and when she asked for volunteers to to defend that position I raised my hand. She picked me but mandated that I argue FOR China's admission.

In doing the research for this position my eyes were opened to the opposing viewpoint and I changed my mind and proudly defended my new view...and... managed to change the minds of the majority of my classmates and win the debate.

I bring this up only to wonder how fun and enlightening it may be to have a thread where we each pick a subject and defend the opposing viewpoint. Take the time to try and understand why someone thinks the way they do and debate from reason on that issue.

It may not change your view but could make compromise possible when all the issues are understood.

Maybe not so much. When we ran mealy-mouthed guys who compromised, guess what - they lost. Then we ran a guy with brass balls and he beat them so badly they must have thought they were married to Muslims

I am constantly amazed by these “Trump threads” and how Trumpeters continue to be dazzled by Trump.

They’ll say things like; “Then we ran a guy with brass balls and he beat them so badly they must have thought they were married to Muslims”.

First, how does getting 3,000,000 more popular votes mean you were beaten badly? Even the electoral college vote was not a landslide.

Why does being married to a Muslim equate to being beaten badly, is that some kind of bad ethnic slur?

And last Trump doesn’t have brass anything, he is merely an egotistical misogynistic liar that doesn’t have a clue and lot of Americans were fooled by him and are now in denial.

those things are not "compromises."

reducing the supposed "need" for an abortion, while desirable in and of itself, does not alter the fact that one side says its okay to kill the baby for whatever reason they want, and the other side says its not.

the same with immigration. reducing the attraction, while desirable on a number of levels, doesn't alter the debate as to whether or not we are a country of laws and borders matter, or we throw open the gates to pretty much anyone who wants to come in.

in both instances, it doesn't really matter if there are 1,000,000 per year, or 57.

Getting back to the OP:

Many conservative foreign-policy and national-security experts saw the dangers last spring and summer, which is why we signed letters denouncing not Trump’s policies but his temperament; not his program but his character.

We were right. And friends who urged us to tone it down, to make our peace with him, to stop saying as loudly as we could “this is abnormal,” to accommodate him, to show loyalty to the Republican Party, to think that he and his advisers could be tamed, were wrong
.

In an epic week beginning with a dark and divisive inaugural speech, extraordinary attacks on a free press, a visit to the CIA that dishonored a monument to anonymous heroes who paid the ultimate price, and now an attempt to ban selected groups of Muslims (including interpreters who served with our forces in Iraq and those with green cards, though not those from countries with Trump hotels, or from really indispensable states like Saudi Arabia), he has lived down to expectations.

What worries me for the young today is not this or that particular policy or that but just as in documentaries about the rise of Hitler made by Germans at the time, that because 'they had there man finally' everything was just alright. Then Hitler wiped out the German constitution.

What worries me is you liberals have become so unhinged over Trump winning as evidence in this and at least half of these threads. The race card is bad enough but it doesn't get any lower than when you play the Hitler card. You and the usual suspects here along with Ashley Jughead, Madonna and all the rest with your Hitler concentration camp gas chamber bull shit friends are proof positive that you guys have lost yer minds.

How can you have a rational discussion when all one side can do is to call a Snotzi?

First of all, I refer to Cohen's statement and I didn't 'call' anybody anything and what I refer to is not Hitler's 'election' but the reaction of people who did vote for the Nazi party...thinking maybe they have their man.

I referred to how they acted as Hitler took power and even after trashed their constitution and took Germany to war and they didn't even directly elect him...he was appointed chancellor. (there were 5 elections in Germany in 1932)

Define for me...the 'Hitler' card.

You quote a long list of alleged Trump transgressions followed by a comparison in your own words to the rise of Hitler. Hitler, Snotzis and the like have no place in the discussion. It's a sleazy smear by the left the same as accusing conservatives of racism (the race card) so I called it the Hitler card. You could call it the Nazi card if ya want. Many of these threads are full of Snotzi analogies and comparisons to Trump. There are too many of those individual postings to go back and count them all up. Yours was mild by comparison to some of the whack jobs here with all the concentration camp/gas chamber garbage but it's the only one in this thread and I'm sick of seeing this crap.

The compromise is to save the lives of babies... is this not worthy?

As far borders they seemed to work just fine until the lure of Jobs... eliminate the jobs and eliminate the problem. This would be a much cheaper alternative to a wall that has proven not to work...over and over.

When it comes to torture there is no need for compromise... Although the intent was there in Trump and his administration his own party refused to allow it...as they did with Bush... Only the likes of you think it admissible... Thank heavens you are in the minority of Americans that think it is justified.

I admire your attempt to at least get people to try and see things from a different point of view, but in today's environment I don't see it happening.

Consider two subjects mentioned above: abortion and the weekend's detainment of travelers.
In both instances, the two sides are arguing from different perspectives.

Pro-abortion advocates always argue from the point of legality.
Anti-abortion advocates always argue from the point of morality.

But, then in regard to the detainment of travelers,
Pro-detainment advocates are arguing from the point of legality.
Anti-detainment advocates are arguing from the point of morality.

Each side always chooses the basis for their position by predetermining which viewpoint best fits their preconceived agenda.
It's no longer about is it legal, is it moral, is it fair and just, etc.
Today, it's all about winning the argument and getting your way, not reaching an agreement.

The Koran and other Muslim teachings preach that Muslims shall capture women and use them as slaves, to beat all women, a womans testimony isn't worth a man's, a woman shall not share equally in an inheritance with men, and that if a woman goes out uncovered or unaccompanied by a male relative they may be raped or horrifically abused in any way deemed fit

So it isn't a slur, is it. It seems like that if Muslims didn't want such things pointed out about them they would renounce their death / rape cult post haste
