Yes, it is a sad day for the family and the death of a child is tragic. However, I wish to point out a few things that seem to be ignored. 1) had it been a drone attack, the collateral damage (i.e non combatant casualties) would have been higher. 2) The navy seals have the LOWEST collateral damage of any American spec ops units, and team six is lower than the rest of the seal teams. 3) In a fire fight, it is impossible to know where every round you put down range is going to hit a combatant, and in a close quarters situation, collateral damage is unavoidable. 4) In a country that demands action against terrorists, when you have solid intel on a target, you move, either with a drone or boots on the ground. >>> President Clinton was criticized for not ordering attacks when he felt that the intel was not solid enough to warrant the risk of collateral damages. 5) Since 9/11, the success rate of American spec ops in these operations have been extremely high with a very low non combatant casualty count. And if any of you Monday morning quarter backs do not think that each member of that team feels regret for the death of that child, you are all full of shit. Unfortunately, these assholes who conduct terrorist attacks keep their wives, children, and even complete strangers in and around their camps, knowing that if the risk to civilians is too great, the US will not hit them. And while I have been in a debate on the differences between a main stream Muslim and radicalized Muslims, I hold one thing to be true, if we cant convince these bastards to stop using terror as a weapon, then they have to be put down like the animals they are. No man with half a sense of honor kills innocents and claim that it is in the name of god, no god, Muslim, Christian or other wise condones such acts, and when you consider that the source of Islam is rooted in the old testament (Jews and Muslims both claim to be descendants of Abraham) every one of these bastards deserves to die. The death of this child will weigh on the men who conducted the raid, they are after all, human. However the sin associated with her death rests squarely on the individuals who put her in the line of fire. And blaming President Trump for acting on the advice of his Intel and military advisors is bullshit. Just like it was bullshit to blame President Obama for civilian casualties involved in every drone strike he ordered. Like it or not, he is the President, legally elected under our constitution. I didnt vote for him, I didnt vote for Hillary, but he did win. It does not matter if he did not win the popular vote, he is not the first president to win an election this way. So, bottom line, if you believe in a higher power, pray for the souls of the innocent, pray that the ones who put them there suffer righteous judgement for all their sins. As for the rest of it, none of us where in the oval office when the order was given, none of us heard the intel used to justify the strike.
