This was one of the ridiculous major cases in my country. https://www.theguardian.com/world/2006/apr/19/johnaglionby.mainsection Basically this dude has 10 wives and 64 children! 4 legally married wives in Singapore, and 6 "contractual wives" allowed by his Shia sect of Islam but not protected under Singapore law. Mr Seet said that after his client divorced his first wife he took four legal wives and then an additional six "contractual wives", which are permitted by the Shia sect to which he belongs.

In Muslim countries you are whipped (sometimes to death) for doing many of the things done here, gays are put to death etc, and there is a reason for that uniformity. There is a reason why certain Muslim countries are 99% Muslim. All Muslims believe in making Muslim law, what we call extremism, the law of the land wherever they are, and they work toward that or they are not Muslim - they are apostates. The blood soaked book and other teachings based on that book is the only law to them.

On the other hand, I think the Pope would find it very difficult to find any verse in the New Testament bible that justify his orders. But he was blindly trusted as the authority at that point of time. But with Muslims it's different. That's why we have "self-radicalised" Muslims that is the biggest threat this days. Because they got "self-radicalised" by simply reading direct instructions from the Quran itself! And the Quran contains instructions from Muhammad himself. And people also need to stop bringing up the inquisition as Christian evil. Especially since Muslims started it first. It was Christians taking vengeance on the Christian lands that the Muslims invaded and stolen from them. I mean, seriously, THAT is another war that was started by the Muslims and they lost and then wanna cry victim. There are probably more valid Christian evil like KKK that was not started by Muslims provoking them first. And I would consider that more valid genuine Christians going rogue. But even then, whatever they have done is not sanctioned by Jesus and his teachings. This is very different from ISIS is fully sanctioned by Muhammad's teachings. PS: It's late here at 3.30am and I processed the inquisition as the crusades. So my little rant about Muslims starting it first was referring to the crusades. But still, there is no where in the new testament that the pope can point to say that, this is what Jesus would want him to do. Taking people's lives into their own hands on behalf of God is not the message Jesus was teaching them. I am not a Christian, but seriously, I feel like people who are comparing Christian and Islam on these things are not understanding that the Bible and the Quran has two different types history on how it's created, and also don't work the same way. It's very different where an Imam, and they always show very specific and clear verses from the Quran on what supports their Jihad actions. And then you got the Hadiths which they are suppose to refer to fully understand the context of the verse. Which will explain what Muhammad did that referred to that verse. So they will have very clear examples of what it means.

Here in Australia there is a constant hysterical chorus from the far Right that there is a sinister conspiracy to impose Islam and Sharia Law on Australia and Australians. A'ness and respectmen are more or less representative of that chorus - so non-Aussies can get a pretty good idea of the lack of intelligence involved. Anyone who understands Aussies, and their distaste for any kind of religious fanaticism finds this proposition laughable. Sharia law is not enforced fully in many Muslim countries. It seems Muslims themselves aren't too enthusiastic about the idea. Indonesia the most populous Muslim country in the world has a small radical Islamist fringe that has been trying - and failing miserably - for years to get Sharia enforced as the law of the land. So one really has to ask if Muslim countries resist the full integration of Sharia into their legal systems. why on earth would non-Muslim western countries have anything to worry about? The far Right has also got a thing about halal certification - which they insist is used to finance terrorism. No one has ever advanced any credible evidence to support this ridiculous assertion but according to the far Right, this assertion is a certainty. It is hilarious to watch the semi-articulate spokespeople of the far Right splutter with rage whenever they are asked to provide some evidence to support this claim. There's no reason for anyone to take any of this hysteria seriously. There's zero chance of any Western country incorporating Sharia into its law in the foreseeable future.
