So why then do alt-cons so readily take to terms actually originated by the left?

Because they lack the basic critical thought process or interest in matters of fact in any regard to have ever come upon such notion by their own faculties. They are inherently lacking in capacity for anything resembling original thought (not to say that some bog standard liberals aren't guilty of same), and their sense of recognition of distinction and difference extends to "that's the burger, that's the fries," and no further.

Philosophical or ideological theft or rhetorical device pilfering is the only recourse for the unimaginative and mentally unresourceful, especially when consistently on the short end of it. History tells us how this works out, when that side get's ahold of things.

"Fake news" was a late comer when regarding HR Clinton's emails. But such accusation is now invoked as a preemptive strike against the media which served Trump so well in getting elected, not so well now. Oh my.

Trump and his slick-hair "California preacher" schtick got him and his followers on board ("he is more inspirational!"), and they just can't understand why nobody want's to go to all Jonestown with it like they do; hence the 'Fake News' crap, latest.
