ORIGINAL: DaddySatyr quote:
ORIGINAL: GaryWilcox The Alt-Right has no interest in reading and understanding what they are debating, in order to properly contextualize it. They just want to weaponize a few handy quotes and push them. It doesn't matter if it's true, as long as it confirms their own ideas. I'll take - on your say-so - that you're new, here. However, I've noticed a grammatical mistake, in a few of your posts, that are reminiscent of a former poster. That said, I find this quote kind of ironic since, for decades, the left has been "weaponizing quotes" (like: "The G.O.P. wants your grandmother eating dog food" and "racist", "homophobe", "xenophobe", etc. whenever someone even attempts to talk about a solution for social security, welfare reform, gay marriage, illegal immigration ...) The rank-and-file of the DNC has been operating on "talking points" without engaging in honest debate for quite some time, now. It's also interesting that when a Democrat is in power, we hear "Elections have consequences", but when anyone other than a Democrat is in power, we hear a lot of "You people need to learn how to compromise". The tactics are easily identifiable by anyone with a shred of intellectual honesty and two brain cells to rub together. Saul would be very proud of the leftists currently steering the DNC. Like I said previously, please flag me down to a Moderator if you really suspect that-- I can bear the scrutiny and would bear you no ill will (in fact, it would be nice to have someone on the other political side be able to verify that I'm not a sock account). I have been to the forums ages ago when I first started my account to introduce myself, but pretty much stayed away until recently. I am curious about the grammatical error-- I have about seven usual suspects that my editors keep catching, and I'd love to know what it is (with no irritation at you for pointing it out, a mistake is a mistake). I'm not sure that your example is actually a weaponized quote, Michael... it's worse. It's wild hyperbole, and I can't doubt that you have seen it and encountered it from the left. It's unfair for me to say the whole of the Alt-Right is as Bosco is-- that's as much hyperbole as the example of Grandmothers and dog food.
