ORIGINAL: Musicmystery To those of you who support Islamic expression and have not had the experience of being in a Muslim dominant country I would encourage you to do so. To be fair, whether you know it or not, I happen to know that my son was deployed to Afghanistan in a position to learn at least something through direct observation. I'm ill-inclined to just wave away the opinions of someone who's actually been there. I'm still working it out with him. He thinks that simply stopping bombing their nations into rubble isn't enough. I agree. I think that declaring war on 1.6 billion people is unwise. He agrees. Heh, what else I think is that any notion that Christianity is the religion of sweetness and light pretty much ignores the entire history of Christianity. Overall I suspect that stopping American imperialism is a necessary pre-requesite to any sort of global peace. We are the single largest instigator of war, death, and suffering on the entire planet... by far. Beyond that I see terrorism as more of a criminal problem than a military one. Quite clearly military responses have failed to solve the problem and arguably made it much worse. Of course, that begs the question, "Are our actions in the mideast based on a goal to stop terrorism." Recent history says no.
