ORIGINAL: BoscoX Obama's directive, and therefore the Democrat party push effectively removes all protections from women by proclaiming that anyone shall be permitted access to all private women's areas at any time. I have posted the directive in the forums. It says point blank that the change can be rapid and has to be respected on being verbalized Yes, you posted the directive under the Department of Education. I saw it. I promise. While i don't agree with your language about "removing all protections from women," I highly doubt I'm going to convince you of that. Frankly, turning stuff like this over to the individual states, (any area that can be construed as discrimination) most of the time, the individual state will screw it up. If you don't believe that, think for a minute just how many states had laws on the books about people of color having to use separate restrooms. Do you happen to remember the mess back in the nineties when Colorado voters passed (then) Amendment 2? (That was the law that literally said it was legal to discriminate against homosexuals in employment, housing, etc.) If you don't, that was the neat piece of legislation that got Colorado nicknamed "the state of hate" and cost the state millions in every aspect that you can imagine. It wasn't just the legal costs of proving this piece of crap unconstitutional. It was the lost revenue in tourism, the companies that wouldn't build in the state, so jobs weren't being created, the entertainers that refused to play gigs in the state while the law was in effect, and everything else. The price tag on it was huge. Have you been reading the whole thread? A few pages back, the comparison about a similar bill that had been proposed in GA? Unlike Gov McCrory (NC), Gov Deal (GA) didn't have this one day special session that got this into law. He heard "sign it and we pull out of your state," and frankly, I think he understood that GA can't afford to lose the revenue. Personally, I think the way the state of NC did this was pretty shady. The people on this thread that seem to be in favor of HB2 for North Carolina have brought examples from other states where things have gone wrong. What's not being presented is that the cities and counties that had passed the opposite ordinances (i.e., use the restroom as the gender you identify) weren't having the assaults that the people who are fear mongering are trying to say were happening. It's the very same tactic that people tried using years ago when certain organizations LIED and tried to convince the public that gay people were more likely to sexually assault non adults than their heterosexual counterparts. (We know this isn't true because the numbers have been dis-proven time and time again.) Sounded good though and it made people afraid, so I guess it worked. Would you consider trying something for me? Just for a bit. For the next month or so, every time you have to use a public facility to relieve yourself, take those few seconds to think about the aspect that you match whatever figure is on that door. Let it sink in that you probably don't have to think about it otherwise than just this experiment. If you work or go to school full time, how often during that eight hour day do you have to urinate? Do you go to the grocery store or other types of shopping where you might have to pee while you're out? Have you been in any major airports, sporting events, or other stadiums? Restaurant or coffee shop? Do you go to the gym, the movies, or to the park? The average human has to urinate 6-8 times a day. Think about it every time you are out somewhere for a month. All I'm asking you to do is recognize how often a public restroom occurs in your life.
