The President is giving his first speech to a joint session of Congress tonight. Nanci Pelosi said, “We cannot be out-classed by Donald Trump, that would be the worst of all outcomes.”

Is it possible, for the Democrats to remain civil during the President's speech tonight?

I vote no.

He was pretty classy in his acceptance speech when he won.

I haven't seen the speech yet , but with one stating that he will refuse to shake Trump's hand and others inviting illegal immigrants the have started out way behind;

How naïve can one be? It's obvious that it's a show so that when they do 'shout out' they can say, 'See, we even tried to prepare for obnoxious statements from Trump but what he said was ELEVENTY!!!!!'

Like the Democrats have ever cared about how they look as on organization? They still employed Donna Brazille after they knew she cheated on a debate. They have no standards.

I do hope they make sure Nancy's minder is there to guide her all the way to the chamber though.

Well at least a Democrat didn't call the President a liar the way a classy Republican did. But as to his speech I was impressed ... I didn't think he had it in him. I liked the style, pace, and presentation. I thought it brilliant the way he presented invited guests to make a point?

He had much to say I agree with and hope he can accomplish. I just do not see how he plans to finance his grand schemes. On one hand he wants the greatest increase in military spending in years while promising to cut taxes for business and the tax payer. He wants to build the wall...increase spending in education...rebuild our crumbling infrastructure....HOW? He wants to provide clean air and water while at the same time rescinding EPA standards. He wants to reduce the size of government...but add 5,000 border guards...does he think expanding the size of our military will not increase the pay roll?

I actually liked the tone of his speech I just do not think he is being realistic.

Butch

I heard some disturbance at one point, sounded like a group yelling something as he spoke but it was in inaudible - too much wild cheering

Looked a lot like the mass witches spell cast last Friday night against the president, hit Hollyweirdos instead

What kind of question is this? Trump couldn't outclass the contents of the average wrestler's jockstrap. In fact, one crucial reason why Trump is in the White House now is precisely because he was seen as so refreshingly unhampered by class of any kind, isn't it?

Hell's teeth. This *has* to be one of the silliest thread-titles I've ever seen on this forum.

Was that a pic of Pelosi yelling out "YOU LIE!" to Trump?

We must send a post card of it to that classy dude Joe Wilson.

That was her listening to all of the wild cheers during the five minute standing ovation

People just wanted to make him feel better, after witnessing his numerous demonstrations of being the most thin-skinned prez we've had in ages.

Poor guy.

But Trump hasn't even submitted a single tweet about Pelosi, himself, so why are you so obsessed with her?

CNN commentator Van Jones said President Trump became president during the moment he honored the wife of a slain Navy SEAL in his speech in front of Congress Tuesday.

The emotional moment was the highlight of Trump's first address to a joint session of Congress and Jones said that was the moment Trump grasped the enormity of his position.

Jones said if Trump continued to have that kind of moment during his time in office, he would likely be a two-term president."He became president of the United States in that moment, period," Jones said. "That was one of the most extraordinary moments you have ever seen in American politics."
